But not get swept,, we would end up with a 16-14 SEC record.

If we win Missouri series and lose rest we are 17-13 in conference play.

Not liking the fact wecarent looking as good coming down the stretch, especially 2 of the last 3 games where we made Lipscomb and KY relief pitchers look like Roger Clemons and Nolan Ryan.

That's baseball. We were hot. Now we're not.
We are not a Top 5 team, but that doesn't mean we can't make some noise and have an outside shot at the CWS.

I do not know if we are a top 5 or not, but I struggle to name five teams that are better than us. The only clear-cut teams that are better than us are Arkansas and Vanderbilt. And even though they are definitely the more talented teams over the long stretch, we could get lucky in win a 3 game series even against them. I would not be surprised to see us win the upcoming series with Arkansas since it is at home. We still are not better than them, but it would not be shocking to win the series.

Who else is clearly better than us? There are teams such as Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Texas, Texas Tech, TCU, etc...but I am not sure they are truly better than us. Again, I do not know enough to say we definitely a Top 5 team, but I think we have a strong argument to make.

I hear/read this too much and whole heartedly disagree. What makes a top 5 team? We don’t win the “conventional” way that everyone expects in baseball; so what? You are what your record says you are and who you’ve played. To this day we’ve played more top 50 teams than any team in the country and have won 67% of them. We’ve played 7 series in the toughest conference in baseball and we’ve won 6 of them and had a fighters chance in the 7th. We’ve played the most games in the country overall and are tied for 1st in total wins. Throw the “stats” out the window, the goal is to win and we do it as good and as often as any team in the NCAA.

You’re the biggest puss on this board. Do you ever post anything but doom and gloom? Grow a set.

I think we sweep Missouri, go 1 of 3 against Arky and take 2 of 3 against the Cocks. I wouldn’t be surprised if we win the Arky series, but trying to bring a realistic goal to the table.

That’s 20 SEC wins and over 40 wins on the season. Easily a national seed, would get us a bye the SEC tourny and likely a top 6 national seed.

I tend to think with the roll Tennessee is on that they win 2 out of 3 against Missouri,Arkansas and South Carolina.

I disagree, OP. The key is to keep winning as many series as possible, while not getting swept in those we lose. The more wins the better.

Some people have the mindset that you must go undefeated or you’re a terrible team...especially in sports like baseball or basketball. The real truth of it is to just make the tournament and get hot then. If a team has proven it can do so then just get rocking...shake of a slump. Don’t act like the wheels came off the wagon like Pruitt’s and Butch’s football teams.
