This team showed a lot f fight and Peterman in there made su look more sloppy than we are. Worely still is not that good, but did show a lot of moxy and a whoe lot of improvement from the Oregon game.....however, i am not sold on the defensive coaching...the tackling and angles were realy bad...UGA fanshave been telling me good luck with their former coaches and they may be right...of course it would have helped if the offense didn't hang them to dry the first half....overall, we just need to find some quality QB play...can Worely build on this ad becomeserviceable by the UGA game r should we go ahead and start Ferguson or Dobbs for the future??? That UF backup QB who never played a down looked really good considering circumstances...

Offensive scheme and philosophy do not look good to this point. They depend on route running and not schemes to get guys open... and it isn't working.

It is really tough to tell if Worley is that bad or the WR's are just that bad. He did look better but I think that's mostly because UF made so many mistakes of their own in the secondary. He's still waiting for players to be open rather than anticipating them coming open.

I really did not expect Worley and Peterman to play this poorly... I was wrong. I now believe it is likely that one of the freshmen get a shot. Ferguson seems like he's next up.

The decision to start Peterman today may have ended his career at UT.

True. And IMO, Muschamp isn't a very good coach.

Agree. I think last year may end up being his peak at UF. he certainly can prove me wrong but I see them losing 4-5 this year.

Of course UF owns Georgia as much as they own us, so they could still upset them, but I think they still lose that one.

Yes. And oddly, they were still looking for playmakers in the skill positions just like UT coming into this game... they had talented guys who had not yet stepped up just like UT. But Pease found ways to put his young guys and especially his young QB in positions to be successful.

That has become a Tennessee tradition.

Yep. We can always make a bad Florida offensive team look good.

I do think the D played good early in the game and just got tired due to no depth and our offense could not sustain a drive. Randolph and AJ looked pretty good. Later in the game our D started missing more tackles for sure. Florida's defense may be the best in the country. Butch will need 3 years to get us competitive in the SEC. We have no depth and very little talent.

^^^^^^^^^^This. Missed tackles and not holding the edge. Just like last year.

Worley and receivers will improve as the season progresses. Are we down to one experienced TE? It is a good thing Downs survived the dirty hit. Those bastards were laughing about it on the sideline making Poole a hero.

True. The edge is a major weak point for this D.

Does Poole get suspended for an entire game or just the 1st half?

- Worley actually performed better than previous games, albeit not good enough, given the circumstances. Still, a much better QB compared to the Oregon game. Maybe the benching sent a message to him.

- The defense looks good, but after being on the field so long, you're gonna be fatigued and that's when missed tackles happen. Until depth issues are alleviated, this is what we'll have to deal with until the offense can sustain drives. Jancek is putting them in much better position to succeed. With talent and depth, we'll be able to last 4 quarters.

- The receivers took a small step back today. Pig and North stepped up, but it was clear that Josh Smith wasn't ready for the Swamp. Big drops by him and Croom today. DY is missed. What's happening with Paul Harris? Figured he'd see the field more after enrolling early.

All things considered, I think we've seen improvement from week to week. I expect to see Worley have a really good game next week. GBO!

The problems with the bold are:

A) Florida isn't very good; I wasn't even impressed much with their defense.

B) They play South Alabama, so if he doesn't have a good game, then we got some serious problems.

Here's the deal, we aren't very good. Florida isn't very good, either. On the other hand, we only lost by two touchdowns in the swamp, which isn't too terrible also. Fact is, I had hoped we could win the two we won, plus South Alabubba, plus Vandy, plus Kentucky, plus steal one or two from Ga, SC, Mo, Aub, Bama (LOL). All those possibilities are still out there. Shall we pray?

Agree. Florida's D is great. Offense may get better. The early fumble was on Peterman not getting guys in position and then Peterman lets the ball slip out of his hand. Those 2 plays were killers.

Ok, I'm Butch and here is what I'm thinking, based on my observations throughout spring and fall practices: Not going to beat Oregon, not going to beat Florida in the Swamp. Not really very likely to beat Ga, SC, or Alabubba. BUT, if we could continue to develop our QB and receivers, we have a chance at Mo, Aub, Ky, Vandy. If we could couple that with the three gimmee wins we already have (and So Alabubba is just assumed), we are at a 7-5 season, which is pretty darned good under the circumstances and gets us on the way to a great recuiting class and on our way back to where we belong. Right?

I've been watching football for a long time and I have to say that the first half was some of the worst football I've ever seen. Period. So yes things are that bad

I agree things aren't as bad as they seem, I actually like how our defense has played. The problem is the offense can't stay on the field meaning the defense gets no rest. So at the end of game our d is exhausted however today they gritted out some stops to give us a chance but offense didn't deliver. Our QB play is in question, pig is obviously our best WR, north and croom will get better. Smith is starting to worry me. But a lot of our problems can be fixed. Just give it time. We will get better each week. We are a bowl team. 6-6 my prediction. By the time we get past this stretch of tough games we will be a much better team due to level of competition and will have better chances of beating the auburns, mizz, candys.
