Things I'm happy about today

I have never been to a snooty Costco. And their hot dogs are delicious and dirt cheap. They literally refuse to raise the prices on them. It’s great. But hard to shop for when I’m only buying for myself

It’s different when you don’t go weekly. (I would lose my mind.) Sometimes we get stares, lol, and I just say “We live in Asheville and don’t have a Costco,” and they go “Oh, got it.”

80 miles each way. It’s our day trip. 😁 And the hot dogs, of course. 🌭

It’s bad enough for two. We don’t buy produce etc. Even if we had room, I pause at the thought of trying to use up 10 pounds of lettuce or something.

I see lots of people shopping for daycares and (apparently) elder care (diapers etc).

I am not a member of Costco but I wanted to drop by there to see a friend of mine,
and I had to get a guest pass and it was like an FBI check lol, so I have not been
back since
I like the token cart inspections when we leave! 😁

But they have employees out the wazoo, who generally know where things are, lots of open checkout lines, and clean bathrooms. It’s like anything I suppose, you pick your poison.

Heading back home. Kept it under $400 in the Costco store and under $150 in the attached likker store. Woohoo, saving money everywhere we look!

Edit: gas for $2.59
HBPW got out of there for $433. I was pleasantly surprised. Lol

If they have had bison, and hadn't have been limiting items per customer, it would have been a bit higher.

We hit Sam's about once a month, mainly Perrier in glass bottles and LaCroix for me, and hubby used to get bottled water for his crew at work. We also get a few food items, and paper products. We figured out what works for us years ago and haven't veered from that.

Blows my mind how they cross check the receipt to the contents of the cart... not sure if its a real thing.

I mean he has to shop at Costco for toilet paper. It's a fair question. I just buy mine at the grocery
I load up on paper products and have a good supply in my garage... this based on the shortage caused by the onset of COVID. Costco sells in bulk and that is easier to buy and store.

No... I don't consider this hoarding... just good planning for the next round of shut downs coming.

I guess when your packs of steak cost $70 or so, they want to keep an eye on things. But that line moves awfully quickly! I’ve never seen them confirm every single item.

When I lived in WY, we made 90 mile trips each way to Idaho Falls during mud season and dreary November to save money. Lots of time spent in Fred Meyer. And free sample lunches walking around Costco.
