[note: many of us will say thanks tomorrow with bowed heads over the table for the true blessing......God, family, country, health etc. but I thought I might list ten things related to UT sports I am thankful for]:

1) The color orange. Wouldn't you have hated it if our color was pink or, heaven forbid, crimson!!
2)Arian Foster
3)Pat Head Summit
4)The great Vol football tradition. Just knowing that we will be back, maybe not next year, but eventually SEC champs, BCS and contending for NC's!!
5)Bruce Pearl and the new hope for the long suffering BB program. (I want Kentucky to fear coming to Thompson-Boling again!!)
6)Attending football games with my son. Walking down Cumberland on a beautiful Fall day and admiring the Ginko trees planted along this street.
7)Having Rocky Top as a fight song.
8)VolNation site where true fans can agree or disagree about how the football program should be turned around, but in the end respect the other's love for UT and their opinion.
9)People like USAF Vol who help protect this country.
10)The ones on this Board like the unflappable LIO who stay calm even after the most bitter and disappointing football losses, when many of us are throwing things and worse...,"It's only a game".

(You may have others) HAPPY THANKSGIVING

When we have to add beating South Carolina and Vandy to the wish list you know there's little joy in Volville :disappointed:

Thankful that the Basketball season started on a high note.
Thankful that I saw so many people still sportin' the Orange while I was out and about ( I wore my leather UT jacket to the doctor's office today)
Thankful that we live in a nation that has football.
Thankful for all the players and coaches that built the tradition that is UT football!

Volunteer, you just reminded me of one of my fondest memories of my late father-in-law.

Dad was a DIEHARD Kentucky Wildcat fan. He was buried with his Kentucky hat in his hand in fact. Anyway, the first time he came to visit after his son and I married, my (step)daughter was only 3 1/2 years old and Grandaddy thought she could do no wrong. The first day he was here, she climbed up in his lap and he asked her to "Sing Grandaddy a song". I will never forget the look on his face as she immediately launched into Rocky Top ( woo and all) with all her might. After his initial surprise, he joined in and helped her sing it!

Good man. Many are like that and you have to admire conviction and dedication no matter the allegiance.

I'm thankful that we're not playing LSU in the SECCG this year.

And before anybody says it...you know I'd rather we were in that game than anywhere else on Dec. 3...just not playing LSU...again...on national TV...

:post-20645-1119625378:

Thanks RockyDoc.

There are a few other Armed Services on this board as well. RTE, U-T and USMCVol to name a few.

And I'm thankful for people who support our military.

Being a Vol is near the top of the "Thanking List"

And bigogorange#1, You are right, we all need to thank the good graces of god that we aren't bammers :biggrin2:
