The complaint I see the most is the predictable, vanilla playcalling. Every thread has more than one person talking about this. I do understand the logic, but please understand that when you have one QB throwing it to even where the defender can't get it, one QB turning it over, backs running into defenders, WRs dropping passes... IMHO you have to simplify the playcalling to get basic plays right.

If they simplified any more they would've been taking knees.

... probably would've won the game that way :)

Coach Jones and coach Jake are only calling the plays the O can half ass execute to this point, practice and more practice.

Correct. It's going to look bland when there's no quarterback and no dependable run game. You're stuck hoping you can tread water.

I'm glad you said it...it's been stated before and it will probably be over looked by the negavols who don't understand anything, but glad you said it again.

Does anyone understand what that play was when the entire OL stayed put through the ENTIRE play? What was trying to be accomplished?

Didn't watch the WKU game? The Florida player was offsides (some of us believe) and so they were not moving so they wouldn't get called. Unfortunately the WR messed up with PI.

QB play is so horrendous it's almost hard to tell. If Worley stays as QB we need to drop the read option though.

Thought it was a pretty weak PI call too. It may have been the alcohol messing with my perception though.

I'm chilled out and chalking all of this to the team and coaching figuring it all out together. Some bad plays by players and some questionable plays by coaches. Hopefully they get clicking at some point in the season. I'm just not fired up enough anymore to really worry too much about it. I have no control anyway and it's best just to enjoy what good we do see or can take away. I think the D is improving though.

Totally agree.

agree with the OP ...no QB that can hit basic throws consistently. There is not much you can do other than go to the single wing and just try to pound the rock ....not sure you could win like that ....wouldn't help recruiting , would kill it in its tracks ....and would not develop you players for later in the season and next season .

Not much you can do except run , left , right , and middle and hope that the QB can execute an occasional pass.

Maybe , just maybe , one of our QBs will develop enough here in the next couple of weeks to help us be competitive. When they can hit the basic passes , our run gaps will open up , our defense wont be on the field the hold time.

At that point ..I would think you could open up the play book .

no,that was a pitiful OPI call... it was really just jockeying for position...
the UF player was off balance and made it look a lot worse...

The best playcalling in the world looks terrible when it's not executed.

I feel the need to remind some of the Internet coaches here that there's never been a play designed to go for a loss. If Smith and Croom don't drop the multiple passes that hit them right in the hands this season, Bajakian is the second coming of Coach Cut and Worley looks like a serviceable quarterback.

Have some patience. These coaches didn't get their jobs by losing a lot of ballgames.
