By now I'm sure many of you are well aware of the beating the Gators are taking. Well when CBJ and the Bearcats played this same UL team this year they lost in OT by 3 pts. The final score was UL 34, UC 31. While this is UT and there is no such thing as a "moral victory" in my book, this is certainly better than FL is playing them right now. This same FL team who came up here and beat us on national television. My point in saying this is, maybe UL and UC for that matter, are not quite as bad as we thought they were. Maybe CBJ work has been a little under appreciated by vol fans to this point. I hope I'm right, but we will have to wait and see. As always, GBO!

I never understood why people thought Louisville was bad. Strong is building a program up. He also has 30 players on his roster from Florida. He could get 10-15 more with our recruiting budget. Wish we woulda offered 500K more and let him coach this game tonight. I'm a firm believer that he didn't come because he knew we woulda demanded he start recruiting right away and not let him coach the Sugar Bowl

Does this have anything to do with "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" thing?

Louisville would not have let UT's coach stand on the sidelines of their bowl, taking their spotlight. UT would have had not problem with it.

This...

A Florida team that is that is disapointed to be there and not in the Championship game against a UL team playing in the biggest game in their program's history.

Florida is a way better team and it's not close. With that said, I'm not at all surprised by the result of this game.

i tend to agree, especially after watching this bowl season. although i don't care for strong, i have to admit the manner in which he beat the crap out of the gators is impressive. basically he beat them with alot of 3 star players and a handful of 4 stars. it all boils down to the system their playing in and the coaching that they are recieving. you can flip this idea by looking at usc, a bunch of 4 star and 5 stars without good coaching and they look like a high school team on meth. I could be wrong, but, from what i've seen from CBJ he can coach.

Hmm were we all watching the same game?

I thought Florida, other than being their usual undisciplined team, played hard throughout. Their players were laying wood every hit, especially Elam, and they were jumping around pumped up, I don't think Florida ever quit in this game.

I've seen a certain team quit PLENTY of times in the last 3 years, so I feel like I know what it looks like. Lol But I felt it was a statement game for a new Heisman contender next year. Teddy Bridgewater was on point tonight! He was incredibly impressive. He always made the right read, and had great anticipation and timing with his receivers. I mean, he had one pass in the first half, 3rd and 10 and threads it between 3 Fl dbs and 1 UL wr! That was a beautiful throw!

I just never felt Florida quit. I thought Louisville and especially Bridgewater were just more impressive. So I agree with the OP. I give a lot more credit to Louisville, I feel they BEAT Florida. They were solid in every phase of the game.

All I know is the game tonight really reminded me of the BAMA vs UTAH game where BAMA mailed it in and got beat. I agree and credit is due Elam is a beast...

I give Muschamp a lot of credit for this year, but this was actually the weakest Florida team in a generation. We had them against the ropes and beaten, but Sal gave up the big plays.

I think Florida wins this game 6 - 7 times out of 10, but a UL team that played as solid as they did was always going to give them fits. The Sugar Bowl should come as no surprise to folks who were paying attention this year.

Florida has become so arrogant that this game is "beneth" them, or so they think. I agree, if this was a more storied opponent the gators would be playing with more heart.

I do not think the UL thing is for real. Cincy could have beat them in OT.

I, for one, will admit I was pretty surprised Louisville was able to move the ball against Florida like they did. All you needed to shut down Florida's bad excuse for an offense this year was speed, which we didn't have, so I guess going in I expected a low-scoring game the better defense would win.

I guess my one question is all you guys saying, "well this didn't surprise me", what are you going to do with all your winnings? If you truly expected Louisville to win the game, you dropped at least a c-note on a 14.5 pt. line, right? If I truly believed Louisville was going to win, I certainly would have.
