Didn't the commish honor the NCAA's (or maybe it was Ohio State's) initial punishment, forcing him to miss some games last year? Why wouldn't he do it again?

Ah, never mind, it's a show cause that practically prevents him from being hired, not a suspension. I still wonder if the NFL will view it as a quasi-suspension and ban him.

Had nothing to do with the NFL, why would they?

Because they did last year.

That was for Terrelle Pryor, a player...not a coach. He just can't coach in the NCAA...Pryor decided he was going to be smart and slide past the ruling of the NCAA and go to the NFL...the NFL saw it as a smack in the face to them, and suspended him for the first five games. Big difference.

Tressel worked in some capacity with the Colts last year and was suspended for a number of games.

He worked in the front offices as a consultant, and the Colts, not the NFL suspended him until the 7th game. The NFL had nothing to do with this suspension. It came down from Irsay.

Wouldn't it be a sad pathetic world we live in for old sweater vest to get an NFL gig after leading the 3rd largest scandal currently in the NCAA?
