Really need to get back into shape. I've heard the Concept 2 is the best all around for the money. Any of you have experience with these?

Been thinking about getting rowing machine. Would trade a Nordic Track for one (it's my wife's and she don't use it).

Buy a kayak, canoe, rowboat, gets you outside to inspire you to go further and explore the great outdoors! We have the Ghost River section of the wolf River that is incredible to canoe or kayak down! Not mention the hundreds of lakes in west tn and entire state. Just my input, having weights and machines in my house never helped me stay in shape, so I resort to mountain biking, trail running and canoeing , plus getting outside leaves a lot of distractions out of your work out! Goodluck!

I'd probably end up drowning.

Concept 2s are great. I bought a Water Rower, however, and love it.

Yes, I have considered those also but just like the idea of the Concept 2 a little better. Seems easier to fold up, etc. Did you get the wooden frame?

How big are the machines you're looking at? They fold up?

Yeah, I got the wooden frame. In my experience the storage/"folding up" aspect of the water rower and concept 2 are very similar. You just roll them both up on their front wheels and stand the against a wall. The concept 2 is a lot lighter, but I've been able load my water rower in my suv by myself a few times too.

I purchased a Concept 2 and wouldn't buy anything else. Probably one of the best in home fitness investments you can make. They can be taken apart in seconds or sat up on their end to save space.
