Now with the leaders of the Religious Right not thrilled with the current candidates, they are threatening to potentially create a third party especially if Rudy is the nominee.

Does this truly pose a threat to the GOP?

And who would the candidate for this party be?

It certainly does pose a threat to the GOP and I hope they draft the anti Christ Pat Robertson. But seriously, if they are dumb enough to go third party, they deserve Hillary. I'm a democrat and I will have a difficult decision in voting for her. Although, I probably will because that puts Bill back in the White House. I miss him.

It would definately be a threat but I have no idea who it would be. Larry Craig?

They should just nominate Jesus. He has great fundraising every Sunday, no one can bash him in the debates and he will for sure capture the Latino vote. Appearances may be limited but everyone has a good idea of his stance on the issues.

Unfortunately a candidate running on Jesus' teachings would not get the nod from the RR.

Alan Keyes already declared for the GOP and no one even noticed. He's lost his credibility. Roy Moore of AL Ten Commandments fame is the only other name I've mentioned and outside AL much less the South he has little if any name ID.

there's always Franklin Graham, he's about as close to Jesus as the Pope. I don't think he'd take the pay cut nor do I think he'd want to debase himself jumping into the secular political arena.

Ouch, do you not like Frank?

I didn't mean for my post to sound sarcastic, though I guess it does come across that way. I have a lot of respect for him and I hope that he'd never entertain the idea of getting involved in politics.

I don't think any child of Billy would dare get into politics. They like to be on the outside looking in. They are not partisan and tend to work with whoever the President is.

The only third party person I would like to see is Michael Savage.

This is a very, very frightening man...

I'll have to get my No Moore bumper sticker out if he throws in.

Maybe you've heard differently in AL but I haven't heard a peep out of him since his beating in his last race. We got a taste of what his followers over there serve up in the Ralph Reed for Lt Gov race in 2006. Quite an odd group...

No peep since the gubernatorial race. He was doing some speaking tours about the 10 commandments stuff.

His justification for defying rulings from the very court of which he was a member was staggering and frightening.

Here's Fred's response to the loss of love between James Dobson and himself:

Asked about James Dobson's withering assessment by Fox's Sean Hannity last night (and where was Alan Colmes to make the thing more "fair and balanced?!"), Thompson recalled what happened earlier in the year when the Christian conservative leader made an earlier critique.

"A gentleman who has never met me, has never talked to me," Thompson said of Dobson. "I have never talked to him on the phone. I did have one of his aides call me up and kind of apologize the first time he attacked me and said I wasn't a Christian."

Then, when asked helpfully by Hannity -- ever the conservative peacemaker -- if he would be willing to have a sit-down with Dobson to patch things up, Thompson didn't mince words.

"I don't particularly care to have a conversation with him. If he wants to call up and apologize again, you know, it's OK with me. But I'm not going to dance to anybody's tune.”

Someone sealed and confirmed the loss of any endorsements from this group.

I don't think Savage would want to take the pay cut, plus he'd never be able to work with Congress.

Savage really enjoyable orator.

Micheal Reagan is awful to listen to. How does this guy keep his radio gig. I cannot tell you if I agree or disagree with anything he says because I cannot bear to listen to him more than 5 seconds.

I with you, he would get some stuff straightened out, could you imagine one of his rants if let loose on the house?
