On the occasion of my 3000th post I would like to take this opportunity to express what this board means to me and what it has done for me over the past six months or so.
I have never been one to spend too much time on internet boards. But when I was alerted to the existence of this board, I checked it out and man, am I ever glad that I did.
You, my fellow boarders, need to be complimented a bit more often than we get around to doing, so I will say at this point that I think we have one great group of folks on here.
When compassion is called for and serious things come up, there is no hesitation on your part to give the support, prayers, or information that is needed. When it is time to challenge ideas and opinions, there is no scarcity of feedback.
I think of the diversity of our membership and the one thing that unites us all, the Volunteers, and I am daggone proud to be part of this gang. We offer our support and criticism of the Vols and our programs and I think that in doing so, we become more competent and capable fans and members of the University of Tennessee community.
I will not start calling names here, but I could spout out two or three dozen in a heartbeat that I think I could count on as a friend if need be. You guys are hilarious at times, sensationally informative at times, and never at a loss for words. And words are what a board is all about since we are at different locations all over the country.
I will say that I eagerly look forward to jumping on here and seeing what you all have come up with or what you have to add about what someone else has gotten started. Maybe we don't really realize what a privilege it is to be able to always find someone who is willing to discuss the many topics we kick around on here.
I think we have great leadership on this board and a number of "senior' posters who have been around long enough to keep things afloat without too many problems. I like the fact that people of all ages are here to join in the fun and the promotion of our programs at U.T. and I especially like to see the younger crowd on here and interested in adding to and learning from the posts of those of you who have been around awhile.
Anyway, I am often inspired by your ideas, continually amused by your wonderful senses of humor, and impressed by your depth and breadth of knowledge. I do so sincerely hope that we will be able to continue to have such a quality place to join together and support not only the Vols, but each other as well.
Just want to say "Thank You" to each and every one of you, my fellow board members, for your unique and important contributions to what I think just has to be the best board going today.
