gotta love this:
"Even more impressive? He's been flagged only once in two years, despite his hitting with the aggression of a linebacker"

Bruce Feldman's profile of the relationship between Tennessee Volunteers safety Eric Berry and Monte Kiffin for the September 21 issue of ESPN The Magazine - ESPN

The Subtitle says "Monte Kiffin's coaching may make defensive back Eric Berry into one of the best ever"

Pretty crazy...

Good article. And with the relationship EB14 and Monte are building, that may have him returning for his Sr. year. I read a few months ago that both EB's parents are laid off right now, he said if they find work he will come back next year but if not, that would force him to enter the Draft.

i don't see a guy turning down millions of dollars and a potential first pick of the NFL draft. I am not trying to be a an a$$clown but being a realist.

Eric loves UT and tbh I am not 100% sold on him going Pro. Hes the type who would come back in a heart beat to help this team get back to the top, especially if this season doesnt goes as well as he would want. The money will be there, insurance policies are getting higher every year, Tebow has one thats over 5 million apparently. Not nearly the cash EB would rake in but its still a ton of cash.

That sucks about his parents not having jobs. I would go pro ASAP if mine didn't have work too.

Agree. After watching Bradford get hurt, I'd be surprised if top picks decide to stick around for another year of college football.

He will be gone and I can't blame him. It is almost never correct for guaranteed first round picks (especially top 10 picks) to stay in school. Too much risk. He can get his degree at any time, but his window to play pro ball is very short.

QBs are the only possible exception to this. Their game generally needs more polishing and top pick QBs get thrusted into the fire like Stafford. If they are not ready for it, it might ruin their career. Not all of them can dealten with the pressyre and adversity that comes so quickly. But that is more just because so much hinges on the qb and he is the face of the franchise etc. Other positions are much different.

I would be shocked if he came back next year. You can't get more NFL ready than he will be with a yearunder Monte under his belt. He will be a top 5 pick too...forget about it.

Would it be a violation if some of our philanthropists got his parents a job?
