Road conference games vs tournament/fringe tournament teams that are very solid looking for top 10 signature wins are brutal. Assuming UF can hold off auburn this second half, tonights game is massive for our chances at an outright SEC title.

Alabama and SCAR have looked suspect and will drop games IMO.

Would love an outright regular season title but winning the ones like tonight are the tough ones you have to get. Already dropped one like this at Miss St so likely can't afford another.

Sec titles are cool but I think as a fanbase we have graduated from the idea it matters in the grand scheme. Would rather judge the team in the ncaa tournament. Rick has built such a good foundation for the program that the plan should be getting a good seed to make some noise where it really matters nationally.

And I am not saying winning the SEC is not important in basketball, it’s just Birmingham tends to schedule certain teams with an easier SEC schedule so because of that it just doesn’t matter to me. And that’s not even bringing up the fact we have had an actual sec ref suspended because of bias to the opposing team a few years ago, so how many more of those are lurking around who knows?

Really hard to win an SEC regular season title in basketball. We have one outright SEC regular season championship since 67', unless I just missed one looking at the list, so interesting thing to have graduated from. Would be a major accomplishment and something you are working for and having to earn every single night. Its a championship and hangs a banner.

If nothing matters to you other than the NCAA tournament you will likely be delighted to know our ticket is punched and that tournament starts in a month. Until then, sounds like no reason for you to bother tuning in.

Sec championships mattered back in the day because that was the only way to make the ncaa tournament, again I reiterate how Birmingham schedules certain teams and biased refs on why to me it doesn’t matter…

This team is full of front runners. Cant win a road game against mid teams is a joke. Both Miss State, USC, A&M... all average at best. Whats our best win? A crappy UK in Rupp? This team is WAY overrated. Sorry, but the truth sucks. Bama, Aub, A&M, and USC are all probable L's. At Arkansas will be a miracle. Theyll be as fired up as A&M if not more. Barnes does this every year. Great teams lose. But they dont get ****ing humiliated by average teams. Bad, bad loss.

The game at Fayetteville on Wednesday night just jumped up to "must win" level.

It's hard to blame Barnes when you have two 5th year seniors and a Junior leading the team. The players have to take accountability for their play or lack their of. It's nothing a coach can tell them that he hasn't already done in five years. This team can lose in the first round or make the final four

My primary complaint w Barnes is his offense. It’s old school but he adamantly stated recently that it works.

We looked confused offensively which was concerning. I still don’t understand why Santi is struggling offensively as we need him as there will be nights when Knecht and/or ZZ will be cold.

Rebounding was atrocious and aTm crashed the boards immediately and we didn’t box out, or it was too late to get position.

This team could advance to final four but

I predicted TN to make the final four and winning it all. This is the first time in my life that I’ve made such a prediction on behalf of our VOLS!

However, I don’t like our chances if we play a team with size or elite guards. We are not quick enough to defend off the dribble and our post play is inconsistent.

It’s all about matchups and time will tell.

Go Vols!

You said it yourself Santi, JJ and often times ZZ are struggling. That's on those guys man. They are the leaders of the team and you never know what they will give you. This team will go as far as they take them. Not coaching not Knecht.

JJJ and Santi are bringing nothing to the table. They have played GOOD maybe 3 times each all year. This team goes home early in both tournaments and will be another disappointment. Why…..because we go minutes without scoring. This team will not be any different in March than it is in February. The game last night is just another game leading up to a disappointing ending.
