Rep. John Flemming (R-LA): Under the current draft of the Democrat health care legislation, members of Congress are curiously exempt from the government-run health care option, keeping their existing health plans and services on Capitol Hill. If Members of Congress believe so strongly that government-run health care is the best solution for hard working American families, I think it only fitting that Americans see them lead the way. Public servants should always be accountable and responsible for what they are advocating, and I challenge the American people to demand this from their representatives.

You are assuming that members of congress are morally and ethically sound. You assume they are there to serve the public good. You are wrong.

Ya, I was going to say... this is surprising in what way?

These are the same people yelling at us if we drive a large vehicle, and then hop back on their private plane (complete with military fighter escorts) and fly across the country to attend another pat themselves on the back black tie event (or date or whatever).

another part of this piece of crap is legislation that will prevent doctor-owned private hospitals from being built in the future and it puts a stop to any upgrade of current facilities.

someone, try to defend this, please. tell me how this isn't fascism and that the democrats truly want what is best for America.

It's a rarity, but I wholeheartedly agree with joevol here. The press should be all over this and grill every member of congress that wants to be exempt from the public healthcare option they are pushing on us. The president included.

Yesterday the Democrats introduced a 1,000 page health care reform bill, in an attempt to get someone, anyone to actually read it, they have renamed the bill; "Adventures of Dr. Harry Potter."
