"I am sorry for bothering you," the note in English, read, according to Singh.

Sounds about right. When I was stationed in Japan we had to be very careful in how we asked questions and discussed issues with our Japanese counterparts. Didn't want to shame someone into slitting their own belly.

The strangest thing for me when I spent a summer there is how lightly they take death. For instance, any time a train was more than one minute late, somebody would always say "darekaga tobikonda" or "somebody jumped."

While I lived in Hawaii, there were always Japanese killing themselves there. Jumping off high-rises were probably the most popular method.

My first week there we had to stay in a hotel since our house wasn't ready. One morning we came out to the pool area to find it cleared because they had to clean some japanese guy from it who jumped from the 31st floor.

Prob a year later I was driving along the Ala Wai and police sped passed me and turned down a street. As I passed, I saw the lump that was left of a jumper. :pukeb: It was gross, like something from a movie.

While we've got pusaries over here that try to chug a bottle of Advil. When they go to off themselves, it's either by a 300 foot free fall or jumping directly in front of a train. srs bzns

Why not jump off a tall building and see how many flips you can do? I mean, if you're going out anyways.

I wonder how many people jump then, a second or two later as they hurtle toward the ground a terminal velocity, think, "shouldn't have done this"
