There is no questioning that IMO. Harris is a very good player and Tatum is a very nice wing, but this team goes as far as Hopson takes them. The way he played defense tonight against Fisher was amazing, and he's not jacking 3's he's attacking the rim. When he does that he is a top 15 player in college hoops.

GBO!

Still has a bizarre shot and is too spotty for my tastes. Goins did a great job running the show tonight. Great team balance tonight, I'll take that over having a clear team "owner" any day.

I'll believe it when I see it. Hopson has yet to take over a game legitimately. He played good all tournament but not lights out great.

idk how many minutes he played tonight but i think he needs more for sure. i would give him about 5 more minutes overall than normal and see what happens. If him and harrias got a 2 man isolation play going the D wouldn't know what to do.

I've been a big critic of Hopson, but he played better tonight than anytime I have ever watched him play. He plays like that the rest of the year, and it's going to be a fun ride.

This team belongs to 4 people and one isn't any more important than the other, in my opinion. Williams, Tatum, Hopson and Harris. Those 4 are the keys to winning. One has an off night, then we don't win.

See: tonight

BW - 12 pts, 7 boards
Tobias - 15 pts, 9 boards
Tatum - 17 pts, 4 boards(3 of them offensive)
Hopson - 18 pts, 3 dimes

Very solid core for us that can win against any team. Also, Stevie Pearl is a rock defensively.

Judging by how Brian Williams almost made SH piss himself last year against Sparty, I'd say this is his team until proven otherwise.

Hopson played his best game as a Vol. Heads-up the whole game. Good D. Needs a reliable perimeter shot to move to the elite level.
Harris is really good, and consistent. Probably the best Vol.
Williams was excellent. Need his inside presence (and O rebounding) the rest of the year.
Goins was the game MVP: Commanded offense and lights-out D.
Tatum is currently the best shooter - the only legitimate outside threat. Played good D too.
McBee played good D. He's a hustler. Still doesn't really B E L I E V E in his shot, and may not get enough playing time to get it. He's gotta work on this. We need a second outside shooter for the opposition to have to guard.
Pearl is a great addition - hustler, fast hands and feet, forces turnovers, is more than the opposition expects him to be, and surprise is the best offense.
The rest need improvement. Fields - a step slow. Woolrich lacks offensive confidence. Etc.

Best game most of the guys have played all year, which is why it was such a great team win. They all showed us what they are capable of when they focus and play hard and smart, especially big Brian and Scotty. Those were two different players than we saw the first few games of the year.

Huge, huge game for Scotty and the high top fade. Dude played out of his mind, and has probably played the best 4 game stretch of his career. Love it. When he plays hard and smart, he's a force. Simple as that.

:good!:
good post, considering the officiating was so one sided.
I would have to go back to Kentucky playing Stanford the last time Kentucky won a NC. The officiating was so
bad that I looked for Kentucky players to pull switchblades. Kentucky got away with murder in that game. (almost)

He was talking about the Nova game as that post was made 11-27. However, most applied to tonight. Hopson is our best player, and this team will go far with Scotty playing at this level.
