Let's fire our DC. Who do we hire? Muschamp? He's turned us down 2 times. The DC from Stanford (He'll probably go to the NFL next), Manny Diaz from Texas maybe (fired for giving up 300+ yards rushing to BYU). Give me some names and what they can do, please. Does that mean I like seeing 55 pts per game and 500+ yards on offense and QB having career games against top 10 team? NO! I want players to tackle and get in the right position. The problem as I see it is that these players have had 3-4 different systems in the same number of years. Jancek has a couple of years in my book to get players that fit his system and coach them up. If he proves to be useless and we keep seeing our D giving up 55 pt games he should be fired!

Jancek and Martinez had studs that fit their system at UGA and what Auburn did to Tenn today is what Tn ,Fla and every other decent SEC team were doing to their Def. while at UGA. But keep telling yourself that they need players to fit their system.

Ha. The SAME TEAM that has enough talent to barely lose to GA and defeat the 11th ranked team in the country is the same team that has been outscored by an average tally of:

43-12 the last 3 games.

So what is it smart aleks?

You guys so quick to go after ANYONE who dares question the new coach or his staff and try to act like YOU are the ones who aren't ignorant.

So does CBJ have the talent or not? He had enough to beat Carolina and come within a few inches of beating Georgia... yet your big excuse for letting yet another coach completely off the hook is your made up myth of "not having talent".

Which is it geniuses?

"Uh...uh....you're not being a fan. Go Vols or go home. That's my answer".

Whatever.

Go stare at the plaque's you all had made commemorating the wins over Austin Peay and Carolina and conveniently ignore that it was talented players who won those games and absolve the coaching staff that coached those same players to an average loss of 43-12 the last 3 games.

I know I'm coming off as a total dik and anti Butch Jones but I do actually like the guy. I like his recruiting and I just like him as a person.

What I can't stand is the blind homerism and acceptance of losing going on here and people acting like it's sacreligious to ever question the coaching staff and act as if CBJ is just this helpless genius who has been dealt the talent level of Savannah State.

This kind of losing should not be acceptable or dismissed or shrugged off.

"dools" had 3 years to get his record...lets see what happens after butch gets a class or 2 of sec caliper players...besides this season's not over yet.

there is no absolve...we all (or most) want the Vols to win every game but like it's been said "this aint a movie...this aint Rudy were you have success just because you want to"...let's get at least a couple of strong recruiting classes that actually stay together,continuity is key...that way we don't have to depend on flash in pan games were our players have a good game and catch a few breaks. This insatiable need for instant gratification is not good for our football team.I believe our current coaching staff is building "it" and the wins will come.Nothing we say now will change the course of this program anyway but i see a bunch of positive threads on this forum in the near future. Does this make me a "homer"?....you bet...just not a "blind" one...GO VOLS!!!

If any coaching changes gets done in the future it needs to be our assistant coaches.
Butch represents us very well, recruits love him and he's putting in 100% effort. I really hope and think he retires here.

No one's accepting it and shrugging it off. It is what it is. Beating up fans who are loyal despite the score is stupid and if you know you are coming off as a "total dik" then you are one.

UT won the BCS title in 1998 and it has been a gradual decline every since. That's 15 yrs. This will be a long term "process". You don't turn around 15 yrs. of decline in 1 or 2 seasons. If you are ready to start firing coaches at this point you haven't been paying attention. If this team looks like this in 4 yrs. I'll be the first one to admit it's time for a change. Anybody remember Saban's first season? It will take some time and a lot of good recruits. And those stars beside those recruits don't mean squat until they've proven it on the field. How many big recruits have we had that turned out to be busts, potheads, or criminals? I believe Jones will bring this program up. How far? Who knows, but we're at the bottom right now so give the guy some time before you start slamming him. I'm behind him 100 percent.

Dools wanted bigger guys and that is fine except he recruited guys who are as slow as crap when you are constipated. He has more four plus stars recruited than Dooley ever did and after several crappy seasons. You are part of the reason coaches thought jones was an idiot for taking your beloved Vols. You should be a bammer and never come back. Go show us how it is done coach pee wee league.
