I agree bro. It's a damn mess and I don't envy Butch right now. I love everything hes doing off the field, virtually nothing on it. He has a slow, low talent team that appears to be regressing week by week and he's about to get some major heat after what I believe is gonna happen in 2 weeks.... a second straight loss to Vandy.

If any coaching changes gets done in the future it needs to be our assistant coaches.
Butch represents us very well, recruits love him and he's putting in 100% effort. I really hope and think he retires here.

i don't think that he will make any decisions till after next year,as far as staff goes,i'm sure he is looking at it as year 1 and getting talent in

I know I'm coming off as a total dik and anti Butch Jones but I do actually like the guy. I like his recruiting and I just like him as a person.

What I can't stand is the blind homerism and acceptance of losing going on here and people acting like it's sacreligious to ever question the coaching staff and act as if CBJ is just this helpless genius who has been dealt the talent level of Savannah State.

This kind of losing should not be acceptable or dismissed or shrugged off.

I like how not spouting nonsense on a message board is now blind homerism and acceptance of losing. We're all upset with the losses. Some of us just happen to have a little restraint and common sense.

It's this simple. Our program has been bastardized for at least 6 years and it shows against teams that has not been. We lost to a team today that won 3 games last year and fired its coach, but they have had great recruiting classes the past few years (thanks to 2 of our coaches) and we must grow as a program to get back to where we belong.

There will be no more coaching changes anytime soon...if there is, we will be committing suicide as far as a program. All of us that are frustrated with our team have to be patient and let this man (our coach) do his thing. We don't have a choice at this point. Be a true fan and hold on for the rough ride that is still ahead of us. We are at least 2 years and a lot of big recruits away from getting back to prominences. Just hang on.

Why use logic and reason and common sense here? So much more fun to cry that the sky is falling like everyone else. But seriously, I completely agree.

Truth is, good things take time. It will take time to rebuild. We've seen bright spots this year, and some real ugly games this year. And both are reflections of our team and what we really are. We have potential. But we're not consistent. Or deep. Or fast. Projections before the year were 5-7 to 7-5. And that's where we'll end up. It takes time to teach kids to win and believe. It takes time to recruit talent. It takes time to get better and be consistently competitive.

So Fans, relax. Take a deep breath. Cheer for the Vols. Enjoy the progress you see. When it's ugly, cheer for your team and look forward to improvements to come. But don't expect them to come tomorrow.
