this is scary

Another incident happened in April, when students were staging an "affirmative action bake sale" protest. FIRE said affirmative action bake sales are a widely used form of satirical protest against affirmative action policies that treat people of different races differently. Organizers typically display suggested pricing in which African-American and Hispanic students are asked to pay lower prices than Asian and white students for the same items. The protests are thus intended to satirize and spark debate about affirmative action policies, not to raise revenue.

:eek:lol:

The sole purpose of that is to antagonize, not spark debate.

Didn't you get the memo? If you advocate against affirmative action you are labeled a racist hate monger.

They are doing this to prove a point, sometimes the truth hurts. Sure there are some companies were race plays a large part in hiring, but forcing companies to hire minorities who in some cases are not the most qualified is doing both the minorities and the business a disservice.

thankfully our new supreme court justice is a member of organization who 10 years ago had the slogan "affirmitive action by any means necessary." oh joy!

you just don't have her life experiences to help you understand why AA is the best way.

I'm assuming you are typically the giver and not the taker, but one never knows with Cal folk.

i know you are joking, but i knew many qualified hispanics at cal who were very angry everyone assumed they got in because of AA. and the non qualified ones flunked out almost immediately so i'm not sure how much they really were helped. i'd LOVE to see obama's transripts and see if our "genius" level president deserved to get into harvard and become the head of the law review. apparently AA is only horrible if you are george bush and get in because you family has connections.

I'm no Obama fan, but I do believe he has a special skill set that makes him a very viable attorney and thus merited entrance. That said, I wouldn't bet on his grades prior or during being very good.

Depends on practice area. But certainly his oratorical skills also relfect on his high intellect, generally, anyway.
how does this word work here?

The premise is full of crap, but this word tries to let you get away with it. However, you can't be speaking generally when talking about one guy. How's this work.

wasn't reagan supposed to be a complete idiot according to liberals? apparantly the "great communicator" label was a fabrication of the conservative media.
