Everyone who thinks we're the greatest team in the world after a good game, and the worst team in the world after a bad game just need to chill.

Last week wasn't a watershed moment, and this week isn't a stake to the heart.

It's what it looks like when a team learns how to walk again...and then run...it's painful and slow, with flashes of brilliance.

Be patient. It's happening.

We have about 2 guys on either side of the ball for us (other than the O-line) that would start for Bama... Think about that. It's completely irrational for some people on here to think that we suck because the way we're losing right now. This is the best team IN THE COUNTRY. We beat what I still think was a very mediocre South Carolina team. That game was a step in the right direction, but it, in no way, shape, or form should have given us ANY expectations for this game, in Tuscaloosa, against the #1 team in the country, who has 5* guys warming the bench. People need to back away from the ledge and take a bigger picture look right now.

We're being reminded that we just don't have the talent to compete with top SEC teams. We look like a JV squad against these guys...

USC was nice (and the defense did play well), but looking back it was pretty clear that they gifted that one to us.

This is a great post! Be patient. We didn't start sucking overnight and we won't be National Champs again overnight either.

Agree with all of this except for SC being mediocre. They are a good team when Shaw is healthy. This game clearly shows why college is so different than the NFL. There is a CLEAR discrepancy in the talent level. Alabama is heads and shoulders above us on talent. They have more talent on their bench then we have on our starters.

I mean, they're a decent team, but they're not as good as their ranking was. They're ranked about where they should be now. Shaw is a very good QB, extremely underrated, especially by their own fans. Your last sentence is basically what I was trying to say, without actually saying it :)

Its never as good as you think it is when you're winning, never as bad as you think it is when you're winning. Its always somewhere in the middle.

I firmly expected to lose against Bama and Oregon ...wanted to see improvement and maybe a win in a game were not supposed to win ...and of course to win the ones we are supposed to win.

Thus far ...my expectations have been met . We have improved over last season . I have seen enough to believe that , along with the recruiting momentum that we have , we should improve next season , and the season after we will be a team to be reckoned with.
