Here is a quote from Billy Clyde after UK's first exhibition game. This is how you deal with a demanding fanbase:

"When you go straight to the basket, there's always a penetrate-and-pitch situation," he said. "You have to force them side to side, so help can be more helpful."
Presumably, the Cats will work on their defense going into the next exhibition game, Saturday against Seattle.
"We'll be much improved on Saturday," Gillispie said. "I promise."

No watching film, no working like heck. You point out your deficiencies and you promise to fix them before you hit the court/field. The message has a certain ring of accountablility from a coach that feels accountable.

It has the ring of a coach who has just begun coaching at a high profile program....

Billy did not come from the freakin gutter boys!

Billy is off and running at Kentucky and it will only be a matter of time untill he wins a NC. The facts are clear, he can recruit very well, and he can flat out coach some basketball. Lets not all ignore what he has done, and lets not overlook what is likely to happen soon. Billy will win, and win often. He did so at aTm where he built it all around himself. He'll do it in Kentucky for sure.

I like his style. That said, why would we expect Fulmer to change styles. He is what he is. We worked like heck to win the NC - we are still working like heck.

I really don't see how that is any different than Fulmer saying "we have to tackle better" or "we needed to make a couple more plays". Billy G's comment would be the equivalent of Fulmer saying we need to block better so our quarterback has more time to throw. His choice of words was much better than anything that will come out of Fulmer's mouth but the substance was not much different.

Has he ever made it past the sweet 16?
