While I will accept and be OK with whatever punishment Bruce is handed down when all of this is over, it just doesn't seem if all things are considered that a guy dumb enough to not even have a 3rd party pay his recruits(Tim Floyd) will in all likelihood will be coaching in college basketball next season while Bruce will, in all probability, be sitting out at the least one year on a show cause... There just seems to be something fundamentally flawed with the system(like we didn't all know this before our issues of late but still).

I know there are countless threads, so merge if necessary. I have perused through most of them and didn't recall anyone making this point. I heard someone on the radio mention this briefly this morning and it struck a nerve with me and wanted to know how some of you felt about this.

Go Vols!!! Crush the Bull Pups tonight! I hope Melvin gives renardo a tiny tap like he did Cousins last season! Bahahaha

Go Vols!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably has something to do with the NCAA exonerating Floyd and Pearl being an admitted, recidivist rulebreaker. It's not a tough concept.

It's beyond hypocritical that our fanbase throws out the belief of guilty until proven innocent with others, yet Pearl who admittedly lied (then lied again) is being persecuted by the 'AA and ESPN.

Pearl can do any gig next season he sees fit if suspended as long as he returns as OUR coach once he has served his punishment.

I still say that the minute the NCAA begins to display an ounce if integrity then I'll be cool with them passing judgement on others for lacking it.

Don't forget the "everyone lies" or "he without sin" crap. Which is given to Pearl but anyone else apparently Jesus hates.

... and some of it is entirely self-contained. They crap on Craft and Matta (and probably Zuckerberg for even creating facebook) for ratting Pearl out. Do people realize how utterly stupid that sounds?

If pearl is punished and has to sit out next season, I anticipate he will still lead the practices and still develop game plans, he just won't go to coach the actual games (like the suspension this season). I think this is what Hamilton is counting on, and I think he plans to keep Pearl even under this punishment.

Why don't we all wait to see what happends before firing Pearl before the sanctions are even handed down. It might not be as bad as it seems and there have been thousands of threads already on the same subject over and over again!!!!

I'm still amazed how hypocritical people are with Pearl and Kiffin. One is a guy that just made a mistake and we need to forgive, the other needs to be burned alive.

No they don't realize it one bit.

It sure does make for an entertainingly fake rivalry.

Waiting until June would set us back another year.

I can see your point Hat, and I was unaware that Floyd was exonerated... I am not too surprised by this, but I am a bit taken aback... I thought that one was cut and dry guilty on Floyd. Somehow that one slipped through the cracks in my memory.

Neyland Law Vol, I am not speculating for a show cause to be issued on Pearl, at this point I am expecting it and I think all rational fans are after the LOA was released. Anything less than a 1 year show cause and I think we came out of this smelling like roses so to speak. If a show cause is issued, Bruce will not be allowed to even associate with the team for the duration of the show cause order. It won't be the same as the 8 game SEC suspension where he was only limited on gameday. He won't be allowed to do anything team oriented.

A 1 year Tony Jones coached team is the most likely scenario and then we get Bruce back. A 2 year show cause would probably result in a different scenario... I can't see how we could stand behind Bruce while he is on paid leave for 2 years and expect everything to go over well within or outside of the fanbase.

Go Vols!!!

Only problem with this is that Tony is also accused of wrong doing. Makes me wish that Cam Newton played BB for us.
