In a nutshell most people were betting on Cal to win, so they had to lower the point spread to make the money on both sides equal.

Most gamblers think UT will lose. Now if UT lose's you still can cover.

If by most gamblers, you include terribly bad gamblers who bet what ESPN predicts, sure.

But of the serious gamblers I know, a lot are staying off the game, and the ones on it are about 50/50.
