But as an Abilene Christian alum of 2 years that graduated elsewhere, ACU rolled into Lubbock as an FCS school, and hung 51 on Texas Tech in a 52-51 loss decided by a missed 2 point conversion for the win in OT. Yes, it was Texas Tech, but it was still a 'Power 5' play up for ACU.

Import to Note that ACU QB Maverick McIver hung 506 yards passing on Texas Tech, and another team total 106 yards rushing.

Interestingly, McIver spent 3 years on the Tech roster and never played. Several other former Tech players also at ACU.
