It’s still great. Still get goosebumps. Loved being there for it.
Wright State fans may want to avert their eyes.

My 10 year old and I agree with everything you said!

I'm way behind times I know, have patience for an old man. As a boy I listened to Tigers baseball n AM 600, if I could get reception. I memorized every strohs beer jingle, Al Kaline was my favorite player. I quit following baseball several years ago. I grew up with leadoff homeruns, meaning the first batter upthat inning, will someone explain "WALK OFF' home run. Oh a good post!!

Bottom of the 9th, the home team is losing & the batter hits a homer that puts the home team in the lead & wins the game.

Last year was a magical season and I'm eagerly waiting for this seasons to begin. I was blessed to be at the game with my daughter. Like others have said, one of the most truly special moments in my sports life.

Every time we drive to Knoxville my 4 year old son brings up baseball and we wind up watching YouTube highlights for 30 minutes, starting with this one. Last trip over there was for the Zona bball game and it was baseball highlights and reliving memories.

Narcissistic dad moment from me but last years season was special beyond the play on the field, but because of the joy it brought me personally seeing my kid fall in love with baseball and being at the park. He cried when I told him his grandpa was going to the Vandy series with me and he finally accepted it and said fine I’m going to the Razorbacks games (he never refers to them as Arkansas). I believe he was supposed to go the Nashville zoo for the first time with his cousin that weekend and when he put 2 and 2 together that he was going to miss the Arkansas series, while grandpa and I went to it, it was WW3 getting him to the zoo. I’m not sure this team/program realizes the impact they’re making on grownups and kids alike. He played fall baseball for the first time this year and was handed #7, he immediately grinned and said he got Jake Rucker’s number. He asked me what number I wore when I played and I told him #1 and he quips “you had Drew Gilbert’s number”. He hit a “HR” in the yard 4 months after super regionals and said that went as far as Beck’s vs LSU. I said Beck didn’t hit one vs. LSU, I was there you weren’t. After researching it, he was proven right and I tucked my tail between my legs because a 4 yr old had remembered one of the six HR’s that day and I had completely whiffed. Before renewing tickets I asked my wife if she wanted to start going and I would buy 3; can’t say that I didn’t hope she would say no and then smiled a little when she did say no. We’re going to keep the baseball to just the two of us.

Hopefully Sunday post game autographs will be back for the kids again. Good way to let them meet the team.
Jake is a good guy. Talked to him last night. His parents are good people, and his brother is committed to play for Tennessee.

I remember listening to the Tiggers on a little black transistor radio with Kaline calling the games in the late 70's early 80's with my grandpa.

A walk off home run is in the bottom of the ninth or in extra innings that puts the home team ahead to win the game. Cannot occur in the top of the ninth or the top of an extra inning, although a winning home run can occur in the top of such innings if the home team is held scoreless thusly.
