Not really; if you are going to try to become a self-proclaimed "leader" of the TP movement, then turn around and endorse 2 people that are the types that helped inspire the TP instead of candidates that DO fit the TP mold, then you should expect to get blasted.

If you are going to get legalistically technical, yeah ok, she never has been quoted exactly as saying she is a "TP leader". But using common sense anyone can tell that is exacltly what she's been setting herself up as.

I'm not a TP'er; I'm mostly libertarian, but while I agree with the priciple I knew the TP would be hijacked by the same GOP jackasses that have been failing for years, and the faux conservatives like Hannity and Beck, and Palin is just proving that point. It has nothing to do with being "thin skinned", it has to do with not just being all talk.
