All indicators point towards Charlie Strong as our new head coach. I know we all have diverse opinions and most are less than excited. However, this man deserves our full support and I ask all Vol fans to get behind him and make this job easier for him. We badly need a united fan base and its important to remember that we are all in the side if the Big Orange. GBO. Best of Luck to the new HC.

I agree. Some people have unrealistic expectations on this hiring thing. I'm behind him 100% and don't see any reason not to be. Dude is a great recruiter. His DL coach was just named national recruiter of the year. He's charismatic, no character flaws. He knows this conference as well as anyone in college football. He's had two stents under two of the best coaches to ever coach (Holtz/Meyer). I don't see what there is to not like about this guy.

Hopefully he will be the Tiger Woods of Football without that nasty cheating scandal.

Yep and time to get off. We found someone we could put it off on instead of going out and taking a great coach. Time for a Dooley repeat. Same type of hire same result coming. Heck with this crap!

Now, rush out and buy your tickets, shirts and hats. Thats what they hope you will do.

If we were hiring him as defensive coordinator, I would absolutely agree that Charlie Strong would be an outstanding hire. As head coach for a program of Tennessee's caliber, his resume is a little thin for my taste. Having said that, his defensive expertise is much needed and his extensive contacts in Florida will pay enormous dividends on the recruiting trail. Who is his defensive line coach and can you tell us more about him?

ill probably get called an idiot for this but who cares.. heres one way of looking at it.

Couldnt you say that Kiffin and Strong have had very similar results as coordinators and both had awesome accomplishments. Why was Kiffin hyped and this guy not?

I think he will do great things at UT if true of course. Sounds like a great man and a tireless worker.

If he is the man it only makes sense to stand behind him until he proves us wrong. Is he a slam dunk maybe not but the odds aren't horrible. Hopefully Dave Hart does a good job protecting UT on the buyout this time.
