When I read Strange's article Strange: McBee has Lofton's work ethic GoVolsXtra it put some things in perspective. It is sad when you have a team loaded with physical talent and no work ethic. Here is a kid who will shot threes on Christmas day to get better. What will the 'talented' ones do? Some of these kids are trying to go to the next level before they make it on this level. Can you imagine Prince and Hopson with a work ethic? We can only dream! Why is it that the kids with less talent always work harder. Chris Lofton worked hard because he was shorter than most. He had a bit of a chip on his shoulder. All the VolNation wants for Christmas is that Santa give this team McBee's work ethic.

I believe that if Bruce wants this team to finish well he needs to play 3 guards only. Maze, Goins, & Mcbee. AT the 3 play Hopson and Tatum. At the 4 and 5 Play Smtih, Chism, Hall and Woolridge. Put Prince and Williams on the bench never to see action. With this 9 man rotation playing two of the three guards all the time and move scotty to three is our best chance to play well!!! What do you think

I think the reason that a walk-on gets this many props by the press is because #1a He's a "local" and #1b He's "white". Not necessarily in that order.

As much as I appreciate Dane Bradshaw, were he "black", he would be little more than a footnote at this point.

Media outlets should never be construed as a group trying to tell the truth. Just sell papers and garner web hits. They know where their bread is buttered and it is there that they will hype.

Just my $.02

This team has so much potential... unfortunately they won't get close to achieving any of it! The team lacks leadership, work ethic, and discipline... Without these, you are doomed to fail!

Guys with less talent work harder because they have to. It is a shame that our players don't realize that working hard generates success on the court and instills good work ethic in the new guys coming in. That's why the Buzz leftovers molded to CPB's coaching style. They worked hard because they weren't the most talented players and they realized that. They had to work hard and play smart to win, and they did. The team now just expects to win by walking on the court. Lazy passes, poor shot selection, and bad defense seems to be the norm now, no matter who we're playing. It's frustrating but I think that if we have a group of players that come in and don't let each other play lazy or slow down, then we might have a chance to make a big splash come tournament time.

It's not that he is white, its that he's the only person on the team willing to work. The black players are all slacking. Maybe if they would put some effort in youd see articles about black players succeeding.

Exactly what has McBee "succeeded" at? Proving he can score against Big South and MEAC teams? Well, bravo.

Negudu was a fan favorite due to his work ethic. You can tell who works the hardest and who brings energy into the game whether they are white or black.

So McBee working hard in practice should give him a starting spot? Not hardly. Our starters have been sucking it up but still bring more to the table than McBee. Do something against a halfway decent opponent and I'll be on the bandwagon. Until then, I wish the media would shut up about him until his "hard work ethic" shows that it pays off in an actual game.
