The Vols beat Florida, LSU, Alabama, and Clemson in the same year. All of these teams have won national titles in recent years. All of these teams recruit elite players. This should show Volnation what we have in JH and staff. Finally, FINALLY, we have competent leadership on the hill. The future looks very bright, and I am thankful that we don't have to endure yet another coaching search in the near future. This season was a major stepping stone. With the expanded playoffs we should be in the big dance almost every year! Happy new year, and Go Vols!!!!

I posted this in another thread, going to post it again. Still shocked we beat Clemson by 17. All national media were picking them.

We got revenge on Pitt., beat Florida, beat Bama for the first time in 15 years, thumped the SEC west champs at their house, destroyed Kentucky and Vandy (as usual), and thoroughly outplayed the ACC champs and number 7 team in the country missing our biletnikoff winner, WR1, starting QB, and OC. This is what good coaching looks like. What an incredible year. I fully believe before Nico's time is up at Tennessee we will be celebrating a championship. Imagining this when Huepel was hired was unfathomable. So proud of everyone inside our program. Tennessee is back.

I know close doesn't count, but we forget we were a few plays away from winning 10 games last year.

We may take a step back next year, who knows....but I'm excited to see what JH will do with a full roster of SEC level talent in a couple years.
