Golden, although makes questionable decisions at times, is only a sophomore. Mcrae, is a sophomore and still has potential. Josh Richardson has shown a lot of potential especially on D. His D is very very good. Maymon will be back next year, Kenny Hall will too (If I remember right) All we're really going to lose after this year is Tatum. Not to mention, Jarnell Stokes looks like he's going to be a star. This team will greatly improve throughout this year, and I think they can make NIT at the least. Next year though, we should be a serious force to be reckoned with IMO :pepper:

Some of the earlier non-conference losses aside, we've played 3 ranked SEC teams in a row, beaten 1 and definitely could have won the other 2. Right now you can't help but be pleased.

If we could play those bad out of conference losses again right now, even without Stokes, we would more than likely win. Oakland would still be tough, but we have greatly improved throughout the season.

I agree. Very excited about what I am seeing in this team. A bit more development and cohesion and they are going to make some noise. Will that be this year? Probably not (as in NCAA tournament), but certainly they are going to make teams work for every win.

D'Montre Edwards will replace Tatum. Edwards has averaged 15 ppg his last two years in juco. I think this years team could do damage in the sec tournament depending on who we get the first 2 rounds.

i am very curious about edwards as the 3 position next year is definitely going to be the wide open spot imo. with tatum leaving i expect richardson to keep his spot at the 2, stokes at the 4, maymon at the 5, and trae at point. i really dont see much of a chance that any of this changes so really the 3 is the only spot, and you have mcrae, edwards or chievous. he is 6' 6" 210 lbs so he definitely already has the body to come in and compete in the sec, also will be a junior so has gone through the grind and played college level ball, i could definitely see him coming in and starting next year. the only other rotation i see which if it works this way would be our best option i just dont know if stanton is starter worthy but is this:

pg: cory stanton/wes washpun
sg: trae golden/jordan mcrae
sf: josh richardson/jordan mcrae
pf: jarnell stokes/jeronne maymon
c: jeronne maymon/ kenny hall/yemi

if stanton is good enough to start then this is definitely our best option i dont know that he is that good.

I admit that UT has been playing good. But losses dont help.

Sure a 4pt loss to MSU and a 3pt loss to UK look okay...but they're still losses. They need a lot of wins to get the NCAA hopes alive. Hope they do it. They look strong.

We'd have to beat UConn and finish 10-3 in the SEC (11-5 total) to make the Dance. I guess it's possible.

Yeah, but no one realistically believes thus is an NCAA tourney team. Next year we should expect it.

very unfortunate the early losses and the close losses in sec play, what could have been. we could easily be 13-4 if we beat the mid-major and hang on against pitt, and pull it out against msu, that is not counting todays game. if you count todays game and we won wed be 14-3 and 3-0 sec and ranked in the top 25. with that said though i realize close doesnt count just saying...

i think our best chance on making it to the ncaa tourney is via the automic bid by winning the conference tourney. if we can get a bye and be opposite of uk i would feel ok about our chances, as uk doesnt really care about the sec tourney as cal has stated.
