This team quit! Again!

This board is literally a joke. Support your damn team or get out. Butch is one helluva coach and recruiter. With all the attrition and changes this team/staff has gone through the past 4 years this years results should be expected. These guys didn't quit, they were out matched. Go up to the players and tell them they quit and see what they say. Go Vols beat Vandy in two weeks.

Sorry, but critical evaluations instead of blind Go Big Orange is acceptable as far as I'm concerned. We really can't say Butch is one hell of a coach yet. Based on what? Great recruiter thus far. Hope young kids don't start jumping ship based on these games.

This team is worn out from the tough schedule they have faced the last 5 games. Things will get better...patience, patience, patience. Dooley (& Kiffen) did alot more damage than we all realize, me anyway. Special teams was much better than the last 2 games (worn out). Defense was better (a little) earlier in the year (worn out). That being said, no excuse for lacking the fundamentals on defense. They cannot help their not very fast, but no excuse for fundamentals. Not sure about Janzek. If not for the instability that it would produce, I believe CBJ should consider a DC move in the off season.

Not only are they less talented and poorly coached. This team has a habit of quitting. This is the most embarrassing home game I have ever seen!

You obviously didn't watch the Wyoming game.

I wish some of our "fans" would quit on the team and never come back. Save the negativity, the door is that way, STFU and get out.

Someone has started a "the team quit" thread every time the Vols have lost for the exception of the UGA game. Did it ever occur to you that these teams that are beating us(for the exception of UGA) are just that much better than us for now? Good grief!

That being said, the defense struggled tremendously today but that doesn't mean they quit.

If I said this 6 weeks ago, you would think I was insane but we lost a lot of momentum when Worley went down. Once again we are spinning up a new QB, and we have had a slew of Oline penalties that we didn't have with Worley.

Dobbs is improving and he has two weeks to prep for Vandy which had a commanding 183 yards offense in todays win. Ya I know, not against our defense. But if we can keep Vandy to under 400 yards, we win. Perhaps we should play a modified defense with extra safeties vs LBs? IDK

Consolation prize today is that our running game reemerged and we won the turnover battle.

Speed Kills! You have to realize their juniors were recruited off a National Championship and Seniors were there for the Championship, our players are here as a result of Kiffin and Dooley...no contest! Be patient. Defense didn't quit as much as they got gassed by the fast pace no huddle spread. Malzan was smart enough to do the same things Oregon did, wear down the D and speed.

So now the little puppies are just tired. O.K. I didn't understand. Mea culpa.

Fuad Reveiz agrees with the OP regarding the lack of effort today.

This was a strange game. A spiked football cost us huge in this one. 2 blocks in the back (not called) cost us 14 points. Lost momentum coupled with losers mentality equals lopsided loss.

There is a difference between quitting and being physically worn out from a tough schedule.

This.
Most on here have never played sports or been on a team where you were getting beat down and there was nothing you could do about it.

Its not quiting and it sucks real bad.

I wanna hear the logic behind determining who quit and at what point they quit.

I am also interested in the correlation between people who single out the team as having quit and also predicted the Vols to win. My bet is many subconsciously determined that the team quit as a form of denial about their failed prediction.

Has anybody stopped to think how many top notch teams we have played this year? Sure I wish we could have played better, but man what a stretch of tough games.

After today, we have played 5 top 10 opponents and 7 Top 25 opponents out of 10 games. Think about that and then realize that Ohio State has not played a Top 10 team since 2009!, No wonder Urban Meyer went to The Big 10.

UT does not have SEC speed on defense and needs a few more playmakers on offense to help Dobbs.
