This team is gonna surprise some people.They are better than a lot thought and may have some toughness about them.

Yeah, like I said in an earlier thread, each season has its own flavor - even when you have the same players. So far (today at least), this team seems to have a lot of spunk. I do not think any bad teams are gonna beat uncg by 29.

We will know if we have enough pieces of the puzzle real soon though. Even a really good team could struggle with the schedule we have.

I am at least hopeful now.

They were great tonight...but let's face it.....we probably won't shoot 65% from the field again this year. We were just on fire tonight.

While they won't shoot automatic all the time, part of it was because they got good looks.

They got 16 open shots. Which means nobody really contested them. Not only that, they took 18 drives to the bucket and attempted a shot. They were aggressive and was rewarded for the aggressiveness.

1. The ball rotation was really good. This hasn't been mentioned, but we made UNCG drop out of a zone because we were lightning it up with open looks. I wish I counted open three point shots because we had about ten of them.

2. The spacing was much better. If you noticed the last couple years, the offense was crowded. This game, the team had driving lanes and they didn't clog inside the arc.

I was wrong about not having anybody who can shoot. I don't believe we can shoot 70% every game though. There were a lot of open 3s that won't be there against better defenses. We will miss the inside scoring this year and need to get Hall's game up to another level. Should be a fun year.

I too was pleasantly surprised, but let's not get too carried away. They shot lights out last night. That is not going to happen every time out.

I have said all along that this team is better than people think. They will only get better as they become more comfortable with this offense. The opportunities will really open and the defense will get tougher.:good!::good!:
