If you like offense, this one’s certainly shaping up to be only that.

It’s 27-21 at the beginning of the second half. Last year’s game ended with a score of 58-55.

UNC clinches the Coastal division if they win tonight.

And as I post that, Hartman throws a 60 yard TD pass to Greene. They also go for 2, but the pass is incomplete.

34-33 WF with 4:26 left in the 3rd.

Wow. Goal line stand by Wake Forest, deflecting the pass at the line on 4th and goal at their own 1 to start the 4th quarter.

Still 34-33 Wake Forest.

WF was 4 for 4 on going for it on 4th downs. On the 5th try at the UNC 10, though, the QB run ends up about a yard short despite reaching out the ball. Turnover on downs.

Still 34-33 WF.

This game can go either way but I think North Carolina is the worst 1 loss team in the country when you consider the relative weakness of the ACC.

After both teams drive but fail to score, Wake Forest’s (while moving down field and trying to milk clock) Sam Hartman says “not so fast” and throws an interception on a non-passing down.

Wake Forest stops UNC and forces a FG that’s good. With about 2:12 left in the game, it’s now 36-34 UNC.

Wake Forest - who originally started the season 6-1 and made it to #9 in the rankings - have now lost the last 3 games and finish the season with Syracuse and Duke.

For a team that had Orange Bowl hopes and projections, they’re pretty much staring the Pinstripe Bowl or Fenway Bowl or whichever-bowl-the-other-ACC-schools’-fans-don’t-won’t-travel-to dead in the eyes.
