This week's line: Auburn by 7

This line may double by the end of the week because of the amount of people who are going to lay down money on Auburn to cover (which they probably will).

It may go up but I doubt it doubles. Vegas is usually spot on in opening lines. Movement is generally small. Pro Gamblers bet with their brain and not their emotions like fans do.

I remember when Gus Malzahn and Cam Newton made Monte's TN defense look silly with all of their misdirection. It's going to happen again Saturday night.

I'll stay away from it.

Exactly why I don't bet. The UGA game would have been a hard lesson to learn. I was on here considering taking a second mortgage on the house for that one.

Outside looking in though, this AU line seems entirely too low.

Cam Newton is playing? I am less confident now....

That's some memory considering we didn't play Auburn in Cams one year at Auburn and Monte was off to USC when he was there.

Another embarrassing national tv beat down ? Maybe not if there is an ounce of pride left.

That spread is only available offshore right now. It's not unusual to see a line move several points by the time Vegas opens.

noon games don't get as much exposure anyway. I think they have a shot, I really do. What I think matters little, though. It actually doesn't matter at all.

Didn't. Even. Catch. That.

Nice catch.

To be fair we did lose to Malzahn as OC at ARK in 06 and the 09 Auburn game.

We should have won the that Auburn game but the light didn't come on for Crompton until the 2nd half.

Auburn's only real weakness so far this year is that they give up a ton of passing yards, but they have played very talented teams in that department. Also, Mizzou shared that weakness and we could not capitalize because of drops, poor route running and a porous offensive line.

Their defense is good. Their special teams are excellent. Beating the Aggies was very impressive. They are legit.

Cam Newton never played against UT while at Auburn.

I'm thinking Auburn is good for 35 points or so.

How many can Tennessee score?

Auburn is good. All those talking heads calling Auburn a "surprise" team haven't followed recruiting much. Lots of talent, deep roster and well coached for a change. Auburn is better than UGA, SCAR, UF and Mizzou.

The east is a dump right now. So that doesn't mean much.

Mizzou is a 3rd or 4th place team in a typical east.
