This Week's Trap...

I doubt Pat Knight will turn things around. It seems rare that a son takes over for his dad and succeeds.

"Billy Gillispie and Tom Penders please pick up the white courtesy phones."

So Tech gets to choose between a coach that is drunk (BG) and one that always looks like he is (TP)?

As opposed to one who looks like a member of the Backstreet Boys and is showing scant ability to control his team?

Nice read Hat...

How long has it been since the Dukes won the A-10? I'm wracking my brain and can't seem to remember...

I would say it is a safe bet that CBG will get a call on that one. He has proven to be a great bench coach that is not brash enough for the limelight of a basketball powerhouse, but he has what it takes to get the job done in a 2nd rate TX school... hehehe

As always, very informative, and why I enjoy the trap so much!

I definitely agree that Emmert's tipping of the hat is not only a jab in our direction, but generally speaking about something so specific that is supposed to be under tight lips until the LOA is released seems a little less than professional IMO. I hope he feels the heat under his seat after all is said and done!

Go Vols!!!

And Im not real happy right now either hat.
I wouldn't panic yet. Realistically, Pastner was going to be getting on the job training. It's unfair to expect him to perform like a veteran head coach. The thing Memphis has to worry about is their league competitors continuing to hire quality, experienced coaches. That negates a great deal of the built in recruiting advantage the Tigers have.
