I don't like Weber, but that team should be damn near idiot proof. The only thing that's saved him is that Indiana and Iowa have been in the tank most of his tenure. If those two get back on their feet, he's done.I told everyone the beginning of the year that Weber would screw it up at Illinois. I'm not the least bit surprised.

I was talking about that with a coach last night. That'll keep the wolves at bay until everyone gets healthy and Zeller arrives next season.
True, but when you're three years into your tenure at a traditional power and your team is still bad the criticism is going to start.I guess the fans must be really unrealistic there in Indiana if there were some wolves out after Crean. That team he inherited would've struggled if they were in D2. One of the worst teams I've ever seen at a storied program.

I agree, but the circumstances he had to endure is something that no coach could turn around by his 3rd year. Didn't he have something to the tune of 6 scholarship players and having to play a bunch of walk-ons? My memory is foggy, but it was something close to that.
Crean has done a great job. He's assembled the supporting cast and next season should be ready to go.
It is no secret that if I was mike hamilton that my first call would be to Bloomington to see if there was any amount of money to make him consider moving south if it comes to that.

Can't believe we agree on something If Pearl is let go, I would love to have Crean. However, as you said I think he knows he is about to do great things at Indiana.

Of the 6 scholarship players, 5 were Freshman.
