Of course I am. I'm pretty sure Shula, Fran, or DuBose didn't get the same admin support Saban gets though. Even Saban himself didn't get the same admin support he gets now when he first arrived.

Saban wanted complete control of the football program and he got it before he was signed. Bama BOT quickly got out of the way and haven't been heard from again, other than to approve his pay raises and invest him in business adventures.

you mean besides trying to shut down UAB, or was that some other BOT I am thinking about?

That bolded part is coaching, not recruiting. His teams never fail to show up or come out flat. Having more talent than the other team doesn't prevent either of those things from occurring.

When the talent gap is THAT large against 99.9% of the other teams, how would we even know? They could sleepwalk through many other teams and still beat their asses.

Can’t cheat and hoard talent in the NFL, not happening. Saban is a recruiter and manager, not an actual coach that can win against equal talent week after week.
hey bartender, I'll have what he's having

Why would he leave unless he’s tired of winning championships?
Yep, clickbait for sure. Tells you how low S.I. Has fallen. I subscribed for many years until they put Bill Clinton on the cover. Nothing against Bill, but it was suppose to be the major sports mad, not the presidents golf game.
Rant finished, get off my yard.

Per a realtor friend's grapevine, I hear that Mrs Saban has settled on a lovely lake home in Sturgeon Bay

Saban would be so out of his element coaching in the NFL. Especially a superstar QB like Rodgers who is 10x more famous than him. If he was going to make the move he would have done it 5 years ago. He's at Bama until he retires.
I totally agree. Saban isn’t going anywhere anytime soon...

They're there, you just have to look under the table to find them.

Nothing will screw up a football program faster than a divided and wayward BOT. Something you probably know a lot about by now. Bama got rid of some problem children before the hire due to sanctions. Coach Saban stands as an example of why and when good coaches decide to come to your school. If it's a house divided, the big boys, with more options, ain't coming.

5 to 7 years I think coach Saban decides he's won enough. He retires as the second-winningest head coach in Alabama folklore. He gets his own wing in the Paul Bear Bryant Museum.
He has about 6 years left on his contract. Would be very surprised if he retires in the next 3-4 years....

He just turned 67 on Oct 31. He will coach at least 3 more years and let’s see what he does after the 2021 season. His contract at Bama goes through 2025 I think...
I'm saying he's too old to start a new rebuild especially for a Pro team

Colin Cowherd just said he thinks the Browns should go after Saban. While I think Saban will never go for the NFL again, it would be a nice ploy by Haslam to get him out of bama and off our backs. Won't happen though.

Even if he were inclined to return to the NFL, Saban would never coach as Haslam-owned team, and I bet Haslam wouldn't even want Saban. Haslam wouldn't be able to control him.

Above all, Haslam wants people working under him who are loyal to him and can be controlled.
