This would never happen in a baseball game!

I would of dropped her at third base....j/k.
Saw this on ESPN yesterday. I was proud to be a washingtonian for that moment.

The funny thing is, they could have just used a pinch runner and the home run would still count. All those reports about it being a single if she was replaced are wrong.

you're right, but I think since she missed first base, she must be the one to touch it. I could be wrong there though.

I wouldn't have a carried an opposing player. No way. If you can't do it you can't do it

Did you hear the part the young ladies doing the carrying said regarding "she hit the ball over the fence so she deserved to get the home run"? If either of those young ladies were my daughter I would be a very proud father.

i'm totally missing something. While I'm fully prepared to go into a debate on how worthwhile Title IX is with you, I really just want to know what this story has to do with Title IX?

She doesn't even have to be the person who touches missed bases. The pinch runner can come in at any point, and as long as she touches the bases, including missed, by the original player it is fine. Interesting that no body there actually knew the ruling, but then again I looked it up after the fact.

ahhh come on...if i would have torn my ACL i'd have been hopping around the bases on one leg or crawling it, especially if it was my first.

I really doubt that. The pain is supposed to be unbearable. Luckily, it has never happened to me. When I was younger, a kid tore his at soccer practice. There was a pop like you could not believe. I thought for sure his arm snapped in half when I saw him fall and heard it. Then the kid almost threw up on me while carrying him off the field. It sucked

Good luck. I don't know a whole lot east of Mt. Hood that's worth hiking... That's like 2/3 of the state. It's not so much eastern Oregon. More like a combination of northern Nevada and western Idaho, if you catch my meaning.

Once again, why people will never take women's sports seriously.

One year my buddy and I went skiing and he tried a helicopter (360) off a jump and tore his acl no one in the group knew what happened we just laughed at him. Anyway he got up and said I think I might have hurt myself so the rest of us laughed even harder and called him a female body part. He skied with us the rest of the night now he didn't jump anymore but skied none the less. I think I should add that there was a lot and I mean a lot of drinking. The next day we had to find a hospital because his knee was swollen pretty badly and he could not walk. :salute:

I've never had a torn ligament, but I have run off of a football field with 4 broken bones in my foot. I've also hopped off of a soccer field after hyperextending my knee. I've gotta think that the pain is comparable to either of those.

In that case I'll hike the hikable parts of Oregon
