I was just watching tv and i became just a bit aggravated about something. Now i dont know how many out there in xanga land watch the news but apparently something big happened at Columbia University...
The other day, i think it was thursday, the republican organization at Columbia invited the representatives of the Minute Men organization. Now this organization is dedicated to patrolling the border and stopping illegal immigrants from coming into the U.S. Now while theyre main fella was talking, the democratic organization on campus rushed the stage and unfurled a banner and completely disrupted the man's lecture.
Now you know the back story...here's what i think...
Those people (the columbia idiots with the banner) are what i see as your idiotic, elitist, left-wing nut jobs. Now i'm all for political tolerance and hey, if you got something to say then by God you should be able to say it. This is america. But when a group plans in advance, and yes they did plan it...most knew weeks ahead what they were doing, to break up a rally/lecture/service/etc. then those people are no better than moronic putzes. In the late 20s early 30s a certain party in the Weimar Republic did the same thing...They were headed up by this funny little guy with a tiny mustache. For those who arent to up to snuff on history the Weimar republic was the government created by Germany after the first world war. Those little fellas breaking up the rally's of other parties and not letting others who didnt agree with them speak wore little brown shirts and thought of themselves as the perfect race. THOSE PEOPLE WERE NAZIS!!!
Now, regardless of what your own political ideologies are it should be everyone's social responsibility to let both sides of the argument be heard. Now if those same kids want to come up and have theyre own daggum rally about how the U.S. Government is being unfair to illegal immigrants then they have that right to say that. That is what the United States is about. They call the republican party a group of Neo-Facists. News Flash! I can almost guarantee that those whitebread upper crust kids dont know what the devil a facist is. I've studied history. I know how they operate and i know what they do to people who dont agree with their viewpoints.
Now if ol' Bushy was running through the United States locking up kids for excercising their right to free speach then i'd be pulling on the bell to Impeach him...however, last time i checked the only people who dont want the other side talking are the Liberal jerks that run pretty much all of the media outlets around the US. And yeah i understand that Fox News can be a little bit right wing sometimes but my god, some of us like our news with a bit of spin to the right.
They say that going to college makes you more liberal in your political evolution. I know from my own experience that my college experience has helped me to notice stupid people on both sides of the aisle. Yeah both party's have nut jobs...but there is a middle ground and as far as i can tell the Republican party is the only one who's CLOSE to the middle....the left is most definitly not.
Lemme know what yall think...i dont mind listening to other opinions...
