Glad I made the trip down from Charlotte. Was happy to see how cheap parking was and how easy it was to get a ticket to the game.

A few things to comment on from my first SEC Tourney experience:

#1. We still suck. lol We have not improved much since I watched the VOLS lose to Charlotte in my home city. I love the vols.. but we do not deserve a bid to the NCAA dance based on how we have played the last half of the season.

#2. Why does KY hate us so much? I have never heard so many people in a "neutral" site cheer so loudly against us.

#3. Speaking of KY, Wow... so much Blue.

#4. I must have been dissillusioned my entire life. I thought KY fans were supposed to be mean. The ones on both sides of me were actually nice and i enjoyed having a conversation with them throughout the game. They did not go so far as to cheer for TN ... but they chose to not cheer against us while the rest of the building was booing us every chance they got. They said they were glad we won so that I got to enjoy a good experience at the SEC Tourney.

#5. I was dissapointed with the behavior of some of our TN fans. I won't go into details.. as I have seen some of them have already posted here tonight. lol All i can say is that some people really do give TN fans a bad name.

GO VOLS!! I can't wait to see us play again tomorrow night.

One thing for sure: KY fans travel well come tourney time. Of course, they have a lot of money saved up after football season.

Kentucky basketball fans travel as good if not better than any other fan base in the nation.

6. The UK fans were only there to hate on UT. After the game I saw a lot of Orange and Blue leaving, and the MARTA train I was on was 85% blue.

KY fans thinks the tournament revolves around them. There fans are nice when you stroke there ego. If not giving into them while they didn't have a dog in the fight yea I'm guilty. At no time was i rude, cheered on D sat on offense. If you think that is showing who we are as fans then I'm guilty. Who are you kidding 99% of them cheered every time arkansas scored. GO Vols!!

Of course it's all Kentucky fans. They're the only fanbase in the conference that cares enough about basketball to plan an entire weekend around a semi-meaningless tournament every year. Everybody else can pretty well take it or leave it.

Imagine a preseason football tournament, sort of like a giant high school jamboree thing, where everybody played a 15- or 20-minute "game" with winners advancing like the the basketball tournament. You'd have half a million SEC fans in town for that.

Lol. that's why all the TN fans on my side of the aisle were apologizing to other fans on your behalf. Let's just celebrate the TN win and call it a day.

Kentucky fans have the best following of any fans in the country regarding college basketball. They hate us because we have beaten them 26 years in football, which is total domination. I really hate seeing them have a vast majority of the fans at SEC tournament games, especially with the Tennessee alumni presence in Atlanta. At the same time our program and coach haven't given us a lot to root for this season, so I understand if our fans don't show up unless we actually beat a decent team again like UF tomorrow night.

I'm sorry, but apologizing to mildcat fans makes you less than a Volunteer fan. Dude, you can have your holier than thou outlook on life but you have to back up your Big Orange brothers at all costs.

I know many UK alumni and the SECBT is their Christmas, seriously. They will admit it to you, football games for them are just an excuse to get out and drink some beer at a tailgate. Many don't even make it in the game. But the SEC basketball tournament is just heaven to them, they save all year to buy the booklets and get with their dad's, families, etc.. and head down to wherever it is. It sticks out so much because they are the only SEC school that takes basketball as seriously as football, everyone else doesn't really care as much. It's their thing and it's cool, I respect it. Like someone stated earlier, if it were a football tournament, they would get drowned in fans from other schools. Hell, Miss State would bring more than they would.

As for the fan who was giving them hell...keep doing it. Trust me, they'll let you know their opinions on your program quickly...

U clearly weren't there so dont start with me on im not a true fan bc i didn't support an ignorant TN fan that almost got removed from the game by Atlanta police.
