(1) Florida is a good team, they are not a great team as I think we've seen better teams this season. However, they are a good overall team. They don't have the best pitching, they don't have the best hitters, they field very well. The hite to tie the game in 9th was legit shot to opposite field.

(2) Houser is a huge Catch-22. If he had stayed in the game in the 8th instead of Youngblood pinch running, we likely win the game as behind the plate, the Gators don't steal in the 11th and certainly don't get a double error if they do. HOWEVER, Houser came up twice with runners on 2nd & 3rd with one out in 4th and 6th inning and could not even touch the ball. His 2 hits came in less pressure filled situations. He went up to plate knowing we need contact and couldn't do it. His defense Thursday night was good but he cancels this out with poor offense. Youngblood pinchran for Houser but was not threatening to steal on the LH pitcher. Youngblood did score the go ahead run but Houser would have scored as well as the CF stumbled. Hindsight is 20/20.

(3) The Gator HR was a no doubt bomb that you don't see much anymore.

(4) Stewart's hit to deep center caught the shifted cf out of position. Stewart got just a little too much air under the ball and the fast CF go to ball.

(5) I like the lineup now. Maddox at second is a good contact guy and he gets the chance to bat with a runner on.

(6) Florida coaches barking about the strike zone in 10th was hilarious as their guys earlier int he game were getting a wider strike zone than mrtin got.

(7) Andy Cox was dominating in the 8th inning. We were surprised he did not pitch the 9th. Serrano on radio said he was stuicking with his plan. Lee was not terrible in the 9th. It took some good hitting to get that run. Cox only threw 16 pitches.

(8) Hunter Martin was a grinder. He did not have his best stuff but ate 7-innings. He gave up 6-hits in first 2 innings. But 1 hits the last 5. He had no walks in the first 2 innings but did have 6 in last 5. (3 in the third) So he obviously left no hangers in the zone. I think 2-3 of his walks were on questionable calls.

(9) We obviously got the Gators to use far more pitchers than they wanted. That bodes well. Vols had 12-hits in the 9 inning game.

(10) I was dissappointed with attendance. The weather was cool and damp but liveable.

I think Tennessee wins the last 2-games. I would be surprised to see us loss the Friday game.

I kept track of other scores during the game. LSU and UK crushed Auburn and Georgia with some big innings. I noted AJ Reed had big game for Wildcats.

8 Walks is too many to overcome against a team as efficient as UF...

Other than Cox, the pitchers seem to pitch better AFTER they give up something...that needs to be fixed...

The first game, on paper, should have been the toughest, I feel good about our chances tonight...I hope we don't have to use Cox tonight.

Like leaving the spurs open for threes it's a cardinal sin.
3 walks is manageable if it's one guy on situation, 4 is the danger zone, five or above is playing with fire.

The vols played with fire tonight so not shockingly they lost.
You can't beat a first rate team with those kind of egregious mistakes.
