I always get into the same argument. It is usually about NFL running backs and which ones could be successful without a great O line. I maintain LT for the Chargers would still be great. What RBs in the NFL could still be great without a great line?

Being a Carolina fan, it is natural that the first person that wouldcome to my mind is Deangelo Williams. Our O-line certainly wasn't anything to brag about last season, but the guy still managed to average 5 yards each touch and he only had 144 of them. If he didn't have to share his position with Deshaun "I like to dance on my tippy toes" Foster, than he would of been considered one of the top RBs in the league last season.

Barry Sanders was great for years without an OL worth mentioning.

Adrian Peterson would be excellent if he were the only offensive player on the field.

Fred Taylor is the single most underrated runningback in the NFL. You don't see many Jacksonville O-linemen receiving accolades and he's put together a borderline Hall Of Fame career.

I would argue the same for LT. Also quick slashing rb's seem to flourish in zone blocking schemes.

LT's had a lot of coaching turnover in his time at San Diego and still always put up huge numbers. He'd get his regardless of scheme.

Now look at the list of successful TBs in Denver and what they did after they left there.

on a side note, Thomas Brown just walked by my office and he is a pretty stout dude. Put the pads on and I feel like I could tackle him, chase him down is a different story. I hope he does well with the Falcons

Vince Manuwai is a road grader but, your right all Fred needs is a crack.:good!:

This brings to mind the stupid argument that went around during Barry's and Emmitt's prime, that if Barry had Emmitt's OL, he would be the greatest ever.
