1. Forget about Saturday. It was just something Team 117 had to get through. In all honesty, after Amari's first TD reception, they did as well as anyone could have asked.

2. I'm convinced Bama will grind Oregon or Fl State into dust when the time comes. I hope Texas puts down $15M for Saban.

3. I think Justin Worley and Matt Simms will go down in history as the most under-rated QBs in Tennessee history. Worley has improved, and he has on his resume something Tyler Bray will never have - a Top 15 victory.

However, I think Worley has played his last down for Tennessee.

4. You have to admire what Team 117 and Butch have done this year. The Florida game still irks me, but there is no doubt we should be proud of our team and our coaches.

5. Dobbs impressed against the Bama first team, no doubt about that. Which makes me wonder - how good is Ferg?

6. The goal for Team 117 is a bowl game. I actually think 7 wins is doable. Mizzou is improved, but we dominated them until the Dooley halftime and OT demotivation. Team 117 is actually better than Team 116 with all that NFL talent.

7. Better times are ahead for Tennessee. Team 117 might have gone on strike a la Grambling with this brutal schedule and with Dooley still at the helm. Proud of this team.

Bama game was what it was....ugly.
Hoped to see more fight but 7 games of trying to coach up what Dooley coached down was not going to be any match for top rated athletes with superior coaching.

As for Dobbs....
Dobbs brings the perfect element to help our freshman WRs get open more....his legs!
Defenses now truly have to respect him taking off with it.
I for one am truly excited to see what Dobbs can do. Excited to see this offense ran with all the elements in place to make it effective :eek:k: :hi:

Losing to bama always hurts. I'll always be bitter the week after a loss to them.

That said, I thought we did about as well as I expected.

I'm tired of the bama domination and would love to either 1). See them pounded in the national title game, or 2). Win and then have satan jump ship. I can't wait til we wipe the floor with them again. Soon.

Bama game was just another Oregon game. Top tier teams. Agree that is just something team 117 has to go through. But is was going to happen. Look at how good of a team they are. But I love our team, coaches, and recruits. Were are on the right track.

GO VOLS!

#5 - I wondered the same thing. If Ferg was ahead of Dobbs until the supposed injury to his leg, how good is he?

If you look at the post-game interview with thier QB, he specificaliy commented on how we gave them motivation by taking a page from the DiNardo Vandy era and trying to disrespect them. It back-fired on us BIG TIME! They didn't need any more help. I hope that we never ever stoop down to that level again.

So going forward, we just need to play ball, do what we do and we'll be fine. Oh, with Dobbs at QB of course!

I don't think Bama can beat Oregon

I hope we get to see this match-up. I'm not 100% sure, but we are a much improved team since Eugene, and Alabama curb-stomped us with nothing at all fancy.

I'd say Alabama beats Oregon something like 42 - 28.

I hate to say it, but Alabama has gotten better every week too.

Nevertheless, we showed some signs late that we could hang. And things will only get better for Tennessee under Butch Jones.

The game went about as I expected. Of course, I dreamed about an upset victory but I suspected it wouldn't get past the dream stage. This team is well coached, but there's only so much coaching can do. I think we probably have the 5th best roster in the east, behind ga. fla. sc and missouri but recruiting will change that. This team can still make a bowl game but there is very little room for error in the remaining games. Better days are coming for UT though.

I agree with almost everything you said but there's as much nfl talent on this team or more than team 116.

Thoughts on bama? How about F them. Yeah they are as good as expected. If anyone can stop the ducks it is bama. The only thing standing between bama and the trophy is a bad play against LSU.

True, but almost all of it is on the O-line. We need an upgrade on the D-line and more speed in a lot of places.

ok, but I believe we have a faster def. than we did with team 116. I know we do in the backfield.

you are right though, we need more speed on def.

Only two touchdowns have been scored on Alabuba since week 3 and we scored one of them....so there is that

I very respectfully disagree. I think Saban wanted to cut the head off before we challenge him. He is friends with the Dooley and even said post game Butch is continuing what Dooley started ( sorry he is having to reverse some of the bad things Dooley left behind, and that's what Nick is afraid of) Also, I don't think we were ready to play a big time emotional game. Our schedule is brutal, you can't have a really great game every week. Some weeks you just don't have it. We didn't have it this week - conversely we kept fighting, they truly wanted to beat us worse than Oregon. Well they had starters in late still trying to run the score up. Oregon was done at halftime - that's some improvement. Maybe next week we can get back up for another challenge. I feel like on some other week - we could have at least provided some serious competition!
Go Vols!

I don't think Bama can beat Oregon

of course the can with a month to prep, but if they play, I hope bama gets they azz beat down.

Saban leaves and all of bamas commits/players go elsewhere. Then we proceed to beat them down year in and year out

that's what I'm hoping for

I, for one, want Saban to be their coach when UT puts a behind the shed beating on them. I don't want to give anyone any reason to doubt the return of my Vols to the top. They are headed there. I believe it! I see a bowl game for them in Dec and a top 5 recruiting class in Feb. The future is bright and glory is returning. Dobbs played well and liked the adjustments by the defense at halftime. Go Big Orange and beat the Tigers on Saturday!

It's not Worley's decision to make........the coaches will make that call.
he did a pretty good job of getting back in the game yesterday, despitehis obvious ineffectiveness. Im just saying if he says he can go, he prob will get a shot, even though even he prob doubts his ability to grip the ball.
