I wish these three girls great success--but I'm little concerned about how their games will translate to big-time college basketball. In recent years we have had issues with heady players and heady three-point shooters who simply were not athletic enough to be good college players--to defend well, to get their own shots off the dribble, etc. Summitt got into this habit of signing heady players who didn't pan out. Let's face it: whether it is acknowledged or not, we need players who can help us beat connecticut, not, say, auburn or middle tennessee. That's a high bar but it's the standard nonetheless. Here's hoping...
