1) Bruce Pearl made it a point to tell the media Tobias needs the ball more. I'll be interested to see if they go to him early and often, or even the touches throughout the games.

2) Can the PG's keep up? One encouraging thing about Friday's game was how well the PG's played, especially Golden. You will win a lot of games with the way Goins/Golden played. I hope they keep the defensive pressure up.

3) Will the real Brian Williams please stand up? He looked like a shell of his tourney self. Maybe it was just nerves starting, or what not. However, he's a big component and we need him to be more consistent, especially rebounding.

I believe the Vols pull it out, but it won't be easy. 76-62 sounds about right.

Go Vols!!! :hi:

I would add something to watch: can we score any points out of half-court sets instead of doing all our scoring in transition?

If Pearl is determined to get Tobias some more touches, I believe that would help our issue.

good points here.

i will say, i'm now excited about how much golden can contribute this year.

also, he and goins could be crucial for half-court execution if they can effectively drive the paint

Golden is going to be a good player for us. I don't know if he's the future PG, but he can play basketball.

Not to get off topic, but I just realized that we also play Belmont again in December. Weird how that one worked out.

very crucial for those guys to drive the paint so big baby can get easy dump down buckets. i love big baby but he ain't going one on one back to the basket.

Got to get Tobias and Brian the ball early.

I could be wrong but I bet Brian Williams will play better tonight. UTC always doubles down on post entry passes which forced our bigs to kick out quickly. They have done a good job with that for a long time. Belmont traditionally doesn't do that as much which will give Brian a little room to go to work.

I think the OP's point about T Harris will answer the question LawVol asked.

It will also be nice to see if we can get some good assists in to Brian as well. He should be able to score some layups against the Bruins.

What happens when Maymon gets here, and what is the first game he will be able to play?

no doubt about it. tobias needs the rock inside. if we dont do that and get to start shooting threes, we will be in trouble. i am affraid the 3 ball isnt going to be our best asset this year. our half court offense needs to get better also. i look for john fields to get more minutes than brian tonight.

Stephen Pearl got us out of our funk with his four quick points and it really set the tone for our victory.
