For those arguing that the Liberty Head Coach was arguing balls and strikes, please advance the above video to the 8:00 minute mark and watch until approx. 8:35. Read his lips and see what he was asking.

These Umps are chumps. further supported by the second ejection. Give a nobody a position of importance, and this is what you get.

Umps always get testy when they know they’re calling a bad game and get called out on it. This crew is terrible. They’ve grabbed the spotlight in both our games with very bad calls, terrible strike zones, arguing with coaches and premature ejections.

What is it with umpires named Angel?

Angel Campos was just as combative when he was at first Friday night.

Most of the crew is from California.
One is from Virginia

It appeared that the 3rd base ump Friday night was in charge as he made the announcements after video reviews. That guy is from Virginia and works in security and guest service at hotel outside DC in Bristow

Spence's three run shot yesterday was absolutely huge, because it gave Tidwell an early five run lead, and allowed him to just pound the zone and not worry about a solo homer or two. And Tidwell took it from there with an excellent pitching performance.

For those of us who are lip-reading impaired, what did they say?

He simply asked was it a called strike, or did he swing? A question that he has the right to know the answer to.
IMO it was a ball that the batter crossed the plane. Just answer the coach.
We didn’t get the benefit of the replay, because the clown behind the plate took over the circus.

Premature ejections are no laughing matter.

I think he was more protecting his batter when he first came in but after he asked a couple of times he made it personal and that is when he got tossed. I agree the umpire should have just answered but when you go personal you get sent. The second one was all on the coach. Every assistant coach knows that when your head coach has been ejected you have no room to argue anything and he did. Officials do not see assistant coaches as equal to HC especially when they have sent the HC. He should have known not to question anything. But there is really no penalty so why not. I think the HC thought he would fire his guys up but the tables turned when the ejection was followed by big play.

I ve got a buddy who umps college games. It's not as easy or fun as it looks. He's a straight shooter with no faves, and he used to play college BB himself, so I'd go easy on the hate.
