I suppose it is the poor fans who give millions to the University?

UT is at the end of a five year budget and no matter what the season was, they were still going to increase ticket prices. We are still around the national average and with our stadium as old as it is, the cost to mantian it is never going to go down. If you want to stay competitive in the SEC, you must get revenue from your MAJOR market. Tickets, just as everything else we buy, will continue to rise no matter what we say or do. It is like taxes and death-you can' avoid it.

I agree, why would the prices be raised if the team is worse? They were awful last year, and will be this year too. Even if they are making upgrades and improvements no one cares about those but want a better team.

I really urge people to read the article completely before making a judgement. Points that some are missing:

-Prices have not increased since 2001
-Prices are in line, or below, other big-time programs and SEC schools
-UTAD is one of less than ten programs that is completely self-funded, any money raised for tickets goes directly into the AD operating dollars

Again, it's a choice to follow the team and go to the events. If you don't feel the extra dollars for the AD are worth it then it is your right not to pay them.
