I think the UT folks must be happy with the turn out I witnessed tonight. It was announced that the attendance was second only to Todd Helton's jersey retirement.
At my table there were four current players, a couple of parents, and an elderly Red Sox fan. Met the young Vols all very nice polite young gentlemen.
R.A. Dickey's speech was fantastic.
Everything you've heard about Raleigh is true and the parents I spoke to are ready for a new chapter. They seemed to like Serrano quite a bit, as did the players.
As an event, UT went big. I've never been to one of these, very impressive.
Most impressive was the turn out. There is a buzz about baseball, FINALLY. I was not alone in my surprise. One of the dads said given all that has been going on, he was surprised too.
Great event, first class.
Be interested in Frye's take...I thought the reception for Cheek and Hart was pretty luke warm, what did you think?
