Based on the 1st half score I saw while waiting for yahoo to update the vols game, the bleeding tide had their hands full in the first half with a perennial ACC powerhouse.

If you trend the Vols scoring since the FL game, and factor in a couple of weeks to heal and prepare offensively, the next game could get a little ugly unless the Tide has been holding back just waitin' for us.

it's a big time SEC rivalry game. bama will come ready to play like they always do and it will probably be close.

I doubt they've been holding back, I think they're just that bad.

It will be nice for the Vols to have a weekend off. The fact that Bama fans get mad about our off week right before their game makes it even better.

I had the distinct displeasure of watching the Tide vs. Dook.

It was tight until the 4th qtr. Duke missed a chippy field goal that would have given them a 17-16 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. Don't let the final score fool you - It was much closer.

I've got tickets for the Bama game. I can hardly wait for this one. I am surrounded with bammer fans at work. All my bets involve the loser wearing the winning teams hat or t-shirt for the Monday after the game. I have enough hats to go around.

GO BIG ORANGE

I can't wait, my brother-in-law is a Bama fan and I've heard it since last year, I'm ready for them all to shut their hole......After last night, I wonder if we'll be able to hang up another 50 points on Bama as well?

I love that the Vols have an extra week to prepare. I don't expect anything less than a fight from them, they're fully capable of hanging right with the Vols.

Just look what they did with Florida. Just depends which Tide team shows up I guess. The one that gave Florida all they wanted, or the one that got all they wanted from Duke.

The tide will bring it, expect nothing less. Fortunately we have an offense this year... I predict it will be close in the first half with us pulling away in the second.

After Bear Bryant dies and enters the Pearly Gates, God takes him on a tour. He shows Bear a little two-bedroom house with a faded Alabama banner hanging from the front porch.

"This is your house, coach," God says happily."Most people don't get their own houses up here."

Bear looks at the house, then turns around and looks at the one sitting on top of the hill. It's a huge, beautiful two-story mansion with white marble columns and little patios under all the windows. UT flags line both sides of the sidewalk and a huge UT banner hangs between the marble columns. Mailbox reads General Robert Neyland.

"Thanks for the house, God," Bear says. "But let me ask you a question. I get this little two-bedroom house with a faded banner and Bob Neyland gets a mansion with UT banners and UT flags flying all over the place. Why is that?"

God looks at him seriously for a moment, then says, "Bear, that's not the General's house. That's mine."

Early smack from the Bama board --

I don't believe that UThugs offense is as unstoppable as it looked against UGA. I believe that they are not any better, overall, than our offense. Red-zone woes aside, we played much better against our common opponent (UF) than did they. Their depth kept them in the game much longer than did ours, but I think that we will be able to contain them. If we can show some life in the red-zone, then we can win.

Without a doubt, one of the dumber posts I've read in a while.

You know the tide will come in with fire in their eyes trying to ruin our season. We have to keep playing at top level no doubt.

Here are some stats to back you up:

UT UA

Rush Off. 68 60
Pass Off. 9 36
Tot. Off. 16 46
Scoring Off. 11 63

Looks virtually the same to me

What's the difference between a maggot and a Bammer fan?

A maggot can only feast on the carcass of a dead Bear for about a week.

..... and improving. Still have some tough games to play. I know it is difficult when working with young kids but got to keep them hungry and wanting to get better. Unfortunately they also have to play well to continue to impress the pollsters to keep climbing to be in a strong position at the end of the year.
