Tide loses two players

Two players no longer on football team...
From the desk of the SID office in Tuscaloosa:

University of Alabama head football coach Mike Shula announced on Tuesday that Chris Keys has been dismissed from the team for violating team policies, and Travis Robinson has decided to leave the University and, in doing so, will no longer be a member of the Crimson Tide football team.

Keys was a 6-2, 205 pound sophomore strong safety from Stephenson; Robinson a 5-10, 179 pound sophomore right cornerback from Tuscaloosa.

Keys evidently had a reputation as a bad character even prior to joining the Tide.

Were those guys a factor in the secondary this year?

Hard to say - reports say they probably weren't. The one guy played as a freshman but was injured most of last year. The other guy (Keys) played on the return team and had more upside as a hot-shot return guy. I think they were both sophomores.

Rumor has it the were partying with Sir Smoke-a-lot :blush2:

Well even if they are not factors, it chops away at some depth. It was probably boosters...check to see if they were giving them free wacky weed....call the NCAA.
