Auburn was 3-9, but arguably a more talented team than Missouri.

Crazy season in the sec.

Auburn/Mizzou have crazy years.
Ole Miss is better.
A&M was worse.
LSU had it tough.
Arkansas still sucks (enjoy it while it lasts).
UF gets **** on by Vandy and a FCS school at home.
UGA gets killed by injuries.
USCjr was quiet all year but still in the hunt.
UK and UT were terrible (UT claiming 2nd worst this year).

Lots of unpredictable stuff happened this year.

Even with the bad play call it's a lucky play. Running back the field goal try? No excuse for allowing that. I admit it was more of a good play by Auburn than luck, but it's so rare. Happening against Bama with 1 sec...damn.

Every team that goes on a run like Auburn gets lucky. Alabama got upset losses out of Oregon and Kansas State to go last year. They got a shocking upset loss from Oklahoma State to go the year before that. The Stoerner fumble. The year where Nebraska got the kicked ball to beat Missouri. Stuff like that happens
